You can buy a Camera cable for the Xoom See
http://www.crunchgear.com/2011/04/2...rings-a-new-function-to-the-fledgling-tablet/
and
https://motorola-global-portal.cust.../motorola-xoom---digital-camera-(ptp)-adapter

Its suppose to allow you to plug in USB camera's into your tablet but it takes any USB device that android supports like USB sticks and alike.

Does the Asus Eee pad transformer or any other pad have a stylus like the HTC Flyer does. Im looking for a tab that has that functionality. The Asus would be my top choice if it had a stylus and a way to take notes on my documents. Im specifically looking at a 10" am not the Asus MeMo...

Transformer looks absolutely awesome though...

No it doesn't but remember it has a capacitive touchscreen so you don't really need a stylus. But if you want one to write on the screen any capacitive touchscreen stylus will work.

The HTC one in my view is just a gimmick and not worth the extra they charge for it.

If you want a proper stylus type tablet you can always get one of the R2000 and lower price ones with resistive screens and use any plastic tip to write on them.

I dont think its a gimmick. I would use it for work all the time. My meetings always involve some sort of documentation, budgets, reports etc and I tend to lose the notes I take on these documents after a few days. Being able to electronically take notes and arrange them in various folders and email them around would be absolutely awesome. That being said, ill wait a little and see what Asus release. Its definitely the tab I will get though, unless HTC come to the party with lessons learnt executed to create the ultimate tab.

I love the keyboard and see it as an awesome netbook replacement. Ill still use my work laptop though because of Office but that productivity suite should do just fine.

I'm excited!

I find that for this type of notes nothing comes close to paper. What I end up doing is take a photo with evernote and OCR it is still the best. Plus I can do this with my phone, so no need to carry a large tablet with me.

Htc will release a 10" version later this year apparently.

I am new to Android and its capabilities so bear with me please. I am starting to look for a laptop replacement but this might be exactly what I was looking for.

What I was wondering is if I would be able to plug n memory stick or a removable in the USB port and be able to play video of of it?
Also could I access my home PC from the Asus tab to play video or copy documents/photos across to it?

1st its not a laptop replacement, more like a netbook replacement that is also a Tablet

Yes the USB does take USB drives and sticks but is only on the dock, also you can Play copy and install via Windows shares from Android a cool app for this is https://market.android.com/details?id=com.estrongs.android.pop

You'd rather write with a stylus than type on a physical keyboard?

Still no shipment...

I phoned the guys at Rampage Gaming and they will email once they've contacted their suppliers.

I want my toy!! :P

I have an i7 laptop so it's no replacement, I'll use it for taking notes at meetings though, also content consumption, emails etc. and probably as a HTPC. I just hope they master it's 1080p media capabilities at some stage because it's only friendly with certain formats and 1080p is choppy without 3.1 even if the content is encoded properly.

I'm also keen to plug in a PS3 Gamepad via USB for some gaming, my HTC Desire can of course do SNES but the digital keypad leaves much to be desired.

EDIT:

The guys at Rampage Gaming got back to me said the following:

"Only getting stock on the transformer at end of week."

I can live with a netbook design as long as I can use it for movies, surfing and emails I am cool.
Will wait for the 3G model though but this is looking better and better by the moment.

Edit: Don't mind using the dock for file transfers.

Any word or indication if VC or MTN etc will be releasing these as deals?

I'd assume a cellphone service provider would only release tablets with cellphone capabilities.

When a 3G version is launched and eventually comes to SA I bet you'll start seeing those deals.

I just got my Transformer today and it is fantastic. I am still awaiting the keyboard attachment but it is not too important right now.

It feels noticably lighter than an iPad 2, which is interesting because online they state the Transformer is marginally heavier.
