ASUS Eee Pad transformer

Not bad i paid 4.3k.

Is the 8 hour charge rule really a rule? :/

I will be amazed if anyone followed it.... ever. I think all of us played with our Eee pads while 1st charge

On a much related note - While playing with it, i noticed it isn't as snappy as my htc desire which is running oxygen devnull cos i like it fairly stock. Are there any roms worth flashing on the transformer? And when i say "worth", i mean no loss in functionality(eg camera) but better responsiveness..?

On Sat I flashed Prime!1.4 and it was great. Today I updated to 1.5 and if is a big improvement over 1.4. Really smooth and snappy.

Has anyone else experienced the sound balance problem? In simple terms, the left speaker is much softer than the right. While is is fixable to a point by editing a system file, I'm not prepared to accept this. I have the 32GB, bought through official local channels 1 week ago.

That is one of the 3 complaints I have noticed on the net that you have to watch out for, Sound not centered, Light bleed and camera centering. I guess its a luck of the draw, if you get a dud. I dont have any of the problems mentioned, well I have a very small light bleed that I only notice at night when opening something with white and screen brightness turned all the way up. That said, the light bleed is a hell of a lot less than my iPad's bleed.

Yup, the luck of the draw, and a somewhat larger-than-usual risk for early adopters.
In my opinion the sound issue is guaranteed hardware related, as the sound is perfectly balanced when using earphones. I don't believe there will be issues getting it swopped out, and am waiting for feedback from the retailer.

Its not too bad anyway.. im more interested in why while typing this there's lag. I like the full site, not the app

Oh wow, I get this email from them:

Hi

there is no TF available yet that has 3G, that one will come out in a couple months.

Oh. Yes. Of course. I'm not sure why I forgot that. That's why I haven't bought mine, after all; I'm waiting for the 3g version.

Still, I guess the general principle applies. Right now I have one of those Cell C "woosh" sticks that I use for internet on my work PC. What I would like to do is get a 3G tablet, switch the sim card from the woosh stick to the tablet, and tether my PC to my tablet when I'm at work. Then I'll have the best of all worlds: mobile internet on my tablet, internet access on my PC when I'm at work, and without the expense of having a to buy a new cellular data connection. I'm assuming there is a way to do this on Honeycomb tablets, but I'm not 100% sure - I've tried doing some Google searches for Honeycomb and tethering, but it always comes back with discussions about tethering your tablet to a cellphone, not tethering your PC to a tablet.

From what store did you try to buy it?

I ordered my 32GB TF last Thu morning and had it by day end from www.webantics.com. They did tell me on Mon that they also had the 16GB in stock so try them.
Another good one to try is www.rebeltech.co.za.

I'm getting the 32GB from WebAntics using same day delivery, just waiting for the confirmation email after you register, taking a while but interwebs seems slow today.

Secondly, their service is on another level compared to Rampage Gaming. I requested stock, shortly after they emailed me and phoned me, sounding very professional unlike:

My complaint with Rampage Gaming is how rude the one gent was. They didnt reply to emails, they don't answer on the live chat help, they don't reply to the left messages and they love giving unhelpful answers. Not too mention the person sounds like he is stoned on the other end of the phone and couldbt give two hoots.

RandomGRK summed up my experience with them pretty well :)

Awesome,

I just ordered the 32GB & KB Dock from WebAntics.

Both mentioned products are on their way to me now!

Gratz dude.... oi I did not see 8 hours of charge b4 that post???? :)

hehe, it's charging now, just wanted to make sure it worked, also downloaded 3.1 but I need battery juice to flash the update.

The keyboard dock is very nice though.

720p video wasn't smooth but I will try again after 3.1

very chuffed :)

edit: I'm a bit concerned that it was shipped with 0% battery life, I thought LiPo batteries should be stored around 40%-50%?
