ASUS Eee Pad transformer

Do you guys think it would be worth it to spend a bit of extra cash and get a 32GB version instead of 16?

Edit: seeing a 16GB class 4 microSD card will cost me about R200, it does not seem worth it to pay an extra grand for the internal storage.
BTW would class 4 be sufficient?

I originally ordered the 16 Gig version with the view of using a 32 gig Class 10 MicroSD. With ASUS stuff up and stock availability problems I ended up with a 32. Currently have 12 gig space on the internal memory left(DAM Zinio using 200mb a magazine and you cant store it on external). But didn't use the MicroSD for anything, well except for transferring media to the tablet as I have a memory card reader on the PC that moves data faster than WiFi.

Thing I can point out: Android can not run or move apps to the MicroSD so you will be limited to store only data like Music, Movies and Pictures on it so if you not going to use more than 16 gig for Applications(Mission impossible as I dont think there is even 16 gig of Honeycomb apps) you should have no problems, but make sure you get a MicroSD to store media on.

I dont think it needs one, even if I use mine a lot when I remote desktop to my Servers. ASUS Eee Pad Transformer is the only one that included that feature, so I think its more the exception than the rule.
 
I think it might be handy as you said. One could still probably plug in a normal mouse though.

Can you use a memory stick (via the dock) to transfer data instead of MicroSD/WiFi?

Yep, but seeing that I have a Class 10 its much faster than my 2 Gig USB Stick.

I sometimes use the Dock to plug in my 1 TB USB drive to watch movies on my TV.

Probably not, the TF has really good battery life, besides you don't want to leave it plugged in, if it gets fully charged and you leave it plugged in you can overcharge it which is the best way to harm the battery seeing that it's Lithium Polymer, with these batteries you want to unplug it as soon as it's fully charged.

Put it on charge if it starts getting low just be sure to unplug it when it's full.

Draining the battery till it's 0% is also bad, that's why the dock never goes less than 3%. So draining the battery isn't really important, I read somewhere that with these batteries it's fine to drain it about once a month but not all the way to 0% unlike the old NiCd batteries.

Tough one, well I would say it depends on what you going to use it for.

I like the Touchpad options for when I do remote desktop work as well as the 2 X USB host ports and the fact that the Dock brings extra batery life as well as SD card reader. The Slider on the other had dont need the extra weight of the dock to carry the keyboard with you as well as being able to stand on its own when used in meetings.

I dont think this is a question someone can answer for you, more like something that you have to answer for yourself.

Yes, this decision is entirely perspective and dependent on what you're looking for.

Things to think about, the slider does not close like a clamshell like the TF so the TF would have much more screen protection when it's closed.
There is also an extra row on the TF KB and the keys seem to be more evenly distributed, the slider had limited space which is why the KB is more cramped.
The hinge on the TF is surprisingly decent, on that note I question the durability of the sliding mechanism on the slider.
You'd also be missing out on key features the dock has like battery life etc.

I would assume that you could get a female to female adapter and use USB devices on the slider like you can on the TF tablet.
 
Cool, now on 3.2

Only thing I dont like is the circle instead of the mouse pointer :(
Also the new zoom function works nicely on tiger Arcade (Mame) now fills the screen, other than that not much new to see.
 
How? I believ theWW region update only becomes available from 2 Aug onwards.

I did click on check for update when woke the system and told me nothing to update, as I was reading some posts on tapatalk it popped up in the notification area saying there is an update available.

Edit: Woot, I dont have keyboard lag anymore in the browser.

You were stock and rooted, right? I've read a few posts that claim only non-rooted TF's see the update. Nothing here yet...
