ASUS Eee Pad transformer

Just to be clear - a factory reset means EVERYTHING gets wiped - back to the day I bought it with the exception that ICS will still be installed? Any game data etc would need to be transferred to an SD card?

Yep. You have to do some manual backups.

My GPS is working fine, check that it isn't turned off in the new quick action menu(Far right icon).

Ok, so I took the device in to ASUS and they replaced the main board. All looks ok now, except for some random reboots. I think that has to do with bad apps though.

Hi Ngiri, would be good to know where the repair center is and what the process was to get it fixed?

Was that at LetMeRepair?

Last time I had a problem with Asus hardware I took it directly to their offices in Sandton and they tested and swapped out the unit while I waited.

PS. This was a eee Book bought in the US and they had no issues swapping it out

Interesting, when I spoke to supplier here it was bought from, they told me only LetMeRepair handles parts/repairs

Same here! And you can only contact them via email. They're not allowed to field phone calls for some strange reason. Now if only ASUSTEK can give me feedback on my tab :(

This question has probably been asked already, but don't have time to sieve through all these pages. Are any SP's offering the Asus Transformer Prime on contract? Would love to get my hands on one.

Last time I checked, no they don't :(

Sorry it looks like SA is Samsung country, so you not gonna get much of anything else. I think if you look very hard you might find some backwater place that will have the older model on contract but not the Prime.

Its a good thing anyway as the prime suffer from some design flaws(Hiding your antenna's behind metal was a bad idea) and you would rather want the infinity or such where the 3G and WiFi work properly.

Which will probably not be available on contract anyway,
so you will still need to find a retailer that has it,
which will most likely be an online store.

ASUS Transformer Prime GPS Extension kit application

To our valued customers:

Thank you for purchasing the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime, and helping to make it the most popular Android based tablet since its launch in December 2011. We greatly appreciate feedback about our products from you, and we take this feedback very seriously. The response to the Transformer Prime generally has been overwhelmingly positive, but we understand that, in certain situations, the GPS functionality has not met some users’ expectations.

Free Dongle!
Although the Transformer Prime is not a professional GPS device, as part of our unwavering commitment to customers we are offering all Transformer Prime owners a free external GPS extension kit, called a dongle, which may help improve signal reception and optimize the user experience. We are pleased to announce this offer as part of our commitment to customer service, but it does not replace, alter or amend any existing warranties you may have. For more detailed information about this offer, please click on the link below. We also encourage you to contact your local ASUS customer support hotline directly if you are experiencing GPS related problems.

ASUS prides itself on delivering an unrivalled user experience, and we offer our sincere apologies for any inconvenience that our customers may have encountered.

*The offer will expire on 31th of July, 2012 (PST)

I don't know about you guys...

But I'm pretty sure my TF101 is lasting half as long as what it used to now with the stock ASUS ICS.

When I had the Honeycomb Revolver ROM it's like I was charging it once or twice every 2 weeks.

Was about to try the new Revolver for ICS but it seems like it's still in beta so I decided not to.

Exactly why i want to root mine now after OTA ICS, battery life's gone down the drain, can't find stable root for my firmware right now, that said only looked online via tablet, haven't tried any cable+adb methods

Opinions on the resolution and clarity of the TF201? How is it for browsing, ie lots of text? I just wanna be sure my eyes wont be crying (moving from iPad 3 to whatever droid I end up getting)
Or do I play the waiting game and hope the TF700 releases before the world ends in December? :p

Anyone had another firmware update? Received notification on Friday. Update installed, hopefully it sorts out random reboots.

The random reboots is not a OS problem. its an App problem.

A simple factory reset would have sorted that out for you ages ago.... and yes I know its a kak thing to do but unfortunately its the only way :)
