No idea what the string means but have you checked if you have sufficient funds?

Just a thought.

it should be its on contract... I will however try it, with another simcard,

anyway thanks

A friend of mine tried to use his E220 on my Eee pc to view his e-mails, and it did gave us something like that, can remember too clearly.

Anyway, if your Eee PC is using Linux then you find a(Vodacom Mobile Connect) VMC lite application for Eee PC from http://mobiledatasupport.co.za
You will find it under Linux tab, you must just the patience of reading and executing the commands. Works fine and eliminates unexplained errors.

Hope you will enjoy.

Does your Eee PC run on Wins XP or Linux?

If it runs on Linux, does the VMC lite that is pre-installed with the modem work out of the box with the Eee PC? or you did some tweaks.

Please enlighten me, the last time I checked it didn't work out of the box with Linux, that is why I had to download one from http://mobiledatasupport.co.za cause it's made for Linux running machines.

Thats is a error 619 in Linux talk, well thats the conclusion I have come up with, when I got those errors a few times I tried on my wifes laptop same position and got 619 errors, although as usual I could be completely wrong :o

The original one, running Linux.

To be honest, I plugged the E220 in, it detected it and everything worked straight out of the box, so I never gave it any further thought.

Thanx for the update then!

I will inform my friends about this, cause that was the only thing keeping them from buying the Eee PC.
:)
