Asus P5Q-EM and 9800GT problems

Anybody have problems with a hanging system with this combo?
 
I have a p5k and a 8800GT (essentially similar hardware) no probs.

(sorry i know this doesn't really help)
Enlighten us on your problem

um, ok, maybe your psu is not doing to well? or the gpu is over heating(seems to fit the bill).
It might just be that you got a damage Graphics card, so say the gpu is damage(a couple of transistors died) or a ram module is fried(which means that when the gpu is in need, it can't find the ram, and then hangs)

ye, sooo, antowan, plz, tell us your specs? coz maybe when your gpu is in 2d mode(desktop and other windows) it is using very little power, but when you wanna play a game, more juice is needed, but there's a lack of that juice, and as a result, your pc hangs

So, it's not power... Did this config work and then started with the problems or did you upgrade?

Brand spanking new. Gave this issue from the start. Hangs randomly, but especially if you start a game.

There are references on the web of tons of people saying this mobo gives crap with new gpus but I cannot believe such a new mobo would. Maybe a bios update would solve it, but I already put on the latest bios and it still does it.
 
Could be RAM. Try lowering your RAM clock speed settings and increasing its latency in the BIOS.

I've had issues with RAM before where when required to perform, I would receive the dreaded BSOD. Lowering the RAM clock speed solved the problem temporarily, but I ended up replacing the RAM completely before it solved my problem.
