Asus Rog Ally

As expensive as it is that's half the price of this....
I adore my Switch. the V1 version I've cherished since its release. I'm a devoted Nintendo fan though, having owned nearly every console, and I still hold onto my beloved Game Boy from the '90s :).

Im passing the V1 on to my daughter, but I couldn't bear to part with it, my love for Mario is too strong. The downside is that games for the Switch can be quite expensive, although Nintendo occasionally offers sales.

Comparing the Switch to the Steam Deck/Ally, they're not quite in the same league. The Deck and Ally can serve as versatile mobile workhorses, with the ability to connect to external displays for a full desktop experience.

One aspect I appreciate about the Switch is its simplicity, it's plug and play. Games work seamlessly without any hassle or tinkering required.

Honestly now.... is this thing really that much better than just getting a laptop and gamepad or is it a fad?
I say it's worth it. I sold my mid range gaming pc.
I'm going to spin up a Windows 11 VM on my unraid and use that for non-gaming related tasks.

Side note. Using my Dell docking station, you can have 3 screens :-) (2 being external)

Have to say, the screen on the ally is a beaut. Night and day difference compared to the deck.

This one will do
ugreen usbc-50209 5-in-1 usb-c docking station with usbc/usb3/hdmi + 100w pd (grey)
Don't need a 100w anymore can use a 65w.
The reason you would want to dock is initial setup of windows sucks without one
Left or right one?

I kid you not but I've seen something similar to the case / bag on incredible for about R259 this morning. Can't find it though now.

Short answer. Yes.
Oh well. Maybe I'll pay premium and order on takealot.

I installed TLOU and was pleasantly surprised by its playable frames. With FSR enabled and set to balanced, I'm getting between 40-60 frames with most settings on low, and the graphics still look decent, which I didn't expect.

Remember to play around with TDP, resolution and refresh rate settings on armory crate. Also add the kill task quick tile to the quick tile menu button
