Asus Rog Ally

New firmware fixes 2 issues one it now works on the 100w dell charger, plus it outputs to my 32" LG okay still stuck at 1080p thoughView attachment 1560701

ROG outputs at 1080P because that's the max screen res and most games won't run well at full 4K. Maybe that's why you're having problems. ETA Prime got a few games to run at 4K, some with good results.

I only use this device in handheld mode and Remote Desktop to set things up which are complicated.

Got it at 1440p now :) remember the devices screen is 1080p but it should scale to any monitor

Sorry, had to test it and it's pretty good. No problems with the USB, PD and HDMI thus far.

But for the price, it's really good.

Any suggestions on a budget gamepad?
Only budget game pads are the Xbox ones. I'm busy using mine now with keyboard, mouse and everything on my desk.

The Ally is my full desktop replacement. Got a USB-C to usb A adapter for the jsaux dock that the ally lives in when not playinghandheld, and plugged that into the official ally dock for more usb ports, even though it's only usb2.0. If I want to copy stuff to usb hdd or flash drives I can plug the jsaux in directly and make use of the 3.0 speeds.

I know. Sounds like a lot, but this setup kinda works so happy with it

It actually does seem to work really well as a desktop replacement, I mean I've got my actual desktop there and I could use it at a flick of a switch, as I've got a kvm but I used the Ally all of today.

"should"

Windows sometimes does stupid things. That's why I've been using Macs for years.

Like how my driver crashed for no reason and I had to reinstall Adrenalin drivers.

Or how my Armoury Crate refuses to add more than a dozen games and I can't even add games manually because it doesn't allow me to select the EXE files and it does not see the steam shortcuts on the desktop.

Get in on Asus ZA and use the built in game pad. It has a 3 year warranty.

Racing game "Trail Out" is poorly optimized. Runs at 60fps in med settings at 720P at 1080P it can do 25-30fps. Has tons of NVIDIA DLSS options though but no love for AMD. At least Forza 4 and 5 are well optimized.

Yeah don't see all games working 100%
