Asus Rog Ally

Armory Crate now lost most of my installed games. After moving them to SSD. I manually added the ones on the list but it still keeps on forgetting them. what a joke.

I actually barely use that to be honest, I've gotten pretty good with navigating using the right stick and the buttons on the top.

Seems that people are complaining about the 1TB Sabrent drives, their Phison controllers are faulty and will need a firmware upgrade because they cause data loss in some testing software. Sabrent confirmed that the 2TB does not have the data loss issue though.

Hmm mines old and still going. Might have lucked out, though I did have my pc crash Dec 2021

Nah in case someone here bought a Sabrent 1TB for the ROG. It's just the current 2230 NVME drive which has issues and only the 1TB.

I'm still considering getting one soon; But still watching reviews, researching and such. Overall, it's been mostly positive.

Despite the small resolvable "issues", would you guys still recommend them @ R16k? I will mostly be playing Indie games, bigger and GPU intensive titles will only be played on PC.

Yep, thats what i basically use my for.
Vampire Survivors has the longest playtime. If you want the portability, I would say its well worth it.

Thanks

I recently started with that game on PC, portability would help me level much faster with the Ally. At the moment, I only switch the PC on over a weekend to play.

Anyone experienced this issue?

The joystick and buttons do not work in games or Armoury Crate. But the joystick and buttons only works in the Command Center.

I've updated the drivers but nothing solves it.

Yeah I change the controller mode

If you get from ASUS ZA you get 3 years of warranty.
It can definitely do AAA titles. A title like Jedi Survivor is more than playable according to ETA Prime and other videos online. (However I'm not willing to pay R1200+ for this game. Will get if on heavy discount.)

There's two nice bundles on Humble Bundle. All these things run very well on the Ally:

$15 each or c. R270 each bundle.

That sucks after I sent the 65w charger back.

My steam library already has tons on it

I have some of those Bundle items already, either on Steam or Switch or PS. But for someone who doesn't, for about R270, there are some nice titles there.
