Asus Rog Ally

So yeah looking at event viewer did indeed lead me to the problem. I'm a dumbass and fiddled with virtual memory

The way I understand it is, if you running at a lower resolution, you can enable RSR if the game doesn't support FSR. RIS can be used on either 720 or 1080 or 900p if you added that in.

I'm trying to find the video where the guy shows how he forced it to work with both RIS and RSR from the Radeon control panel, but I'm not having any luck so far

But yes essentially you can turn RIS on for any res and it should sharpen the image. RSR upscales similarly to FSR, but FSR in game would be the better choice, since you can RIS that from ACSE without messing with the amd control panel

RIS does not cause a performance hit while RSR does.

So all sorted out now?
Yup :) fix virtual memory BG3 runs with no crashing, even for 900p sorted for games. Don't set windows to 900p just the games.
Put RSR on and FSR where possible and the game doesn't look as good as my full blown pc, but it's damn near close enough on the 7". Okay also only 30 to 50 fps but vrr smooths it out.

I wonder how starfield will run on the Ally

Apparently there's a driver that fixes starfield issues on the Ally but it's not in the myasus app yet

Select win11 then download AMD Graphics Driver dated 2023/08/31.
You will have to update the Radeon software from Ms store again afterwards

All of the things I read said the gain above 20w is almost nothing, so they recommend making a custom 20w profile with a very aggressive fan setting, updating to the new driver and enjoy.

Really crap that 2230 nvmes aren't that easy to come by locally :-) cause yeah 512GB is really small when you've got BG3 and Mechwarrior 5 on your Ally.

Will most certainly give it a go.
I actually dont mind playing 720 at 15w, heck Vampire survivors I run at custom 7w.
Will see if Starfield runs at 18w, otherwise will just stick to the Series S

Yeah but been hearing horror stories of Shein and taxes :-) also still not sure on buying from them

I'm in need of a powerbank and my budget is around R1000.

Any suggestions of other powerbanks or recommendations on these.

The Winx went up to R999. :-(

Which one did you go for?

Got the Winx, it's a solid power bank.

Also got a 100w 2m USB-C cable, Mcdodo 65w charger and a cable pouch that fits everything perfectly snug.

The Winx cables are like 10cm.
