The FSR 3+FG Mod works nicely on our Ally's. Decent FPS numbers!
Big jump in performance, this guy tested the mod on 720p low settings for all games.

Now to get more games to support FSR3 natively.

 
has anyone bought anything from jsaux.com? I am looking at there mod case and there stuff looks really good.
 
Hi guys. To confirm from what I read through all 50+ pages. The UGreen USBC-50209 5-in-1 and UGreen 15495 USBC 5in1 docks work with the stock charger to get the 30W Turbo?

Hi Lupus, thank you for the quick reply.
I went with the cheaper option, the 15495 from Takealot, as they also have a good return policy incase I'm not satisfied with it. Should receive tomorrow, will give feedback.

I will look at getting the backup charger as well at some point, so that I can leave one at the dock, as I do move around a lot with the Ally.
 
I can advise about the stuff I got for my ROG.

The Sabrent 2TB SSD is very good. Got it off Amazon.


It's now $20 cheaper than six months ago.

Using a Nintendo Switch OLED screen protector from Takealot. This one: (it is a 2 pack)

Of course it was R1100 six months back.

To transfer the 512GB Windows installation I used this Orico Enclosure. It currently houses my original 512GB WD SSD. Will use as a backup because Asus cloud recovery may stop working after 1 year.
 
Has anyone put a 4tb m.2 2280 drive inside their ally with the above 90 degree mod?
I am thinking of doing this but not sure about the heat and what will the power consumption be compare to the default ssd.

Update on this.

Still waiting. It was at the supplier on the 8th of December. The supplier closed for the holidays. I need to wait 3 to 6 weeks from the 15th of Jan apparently... :mad:

Where did you hear about the cloud recovery to stop working after a year?

You can still install Windows via usb as you would like a normal pc. Then install all the software/drivers off asus website.

You'd probably have to retrieve the key that's on the ROG, wouldn't you? Otherwise you have to buy a new key. Can you get fresh versions of Armory Crate and Asus apps from the Asus website though? I haven't checked. There are updates, maybe these are full versions? Drivers you can get for sure. There is a free game included on the ROG called Moving Out, that you can't get though, but it's only a few bucks on Steam.

No there is no key or security locks.

I got the 1TB from shein. Got a windows 11 pro oem key and just installed from the usb. Downloaded all the drivers and software from the website.

Best bet is to check on Reddit. I paid $219 for my 2TB SSD and for that I could have purchased this adapter and a 4TB SSD. Back then though, this thing wasn't around. I'm ok with 2TB though. But games being this big, for example Forza 5, I have 4 installed but 5 also in the library, it can always benefit with more space.

Yes, you bought a Pro key. For people who haven't purchased a key, if their SSD loses data and the Asus servers go offline you will then have to buy a new key to get Windows 11 Home OEM or may as well buy a Pro key. What are you doing with your original SSD? I'm keeping mine as a backup.
