It used to, doesn't seem to allow it to do it now, currently I'm using a 100w Dell Charger that my laptop also uses to do the charging while docked. It's the same as it used to allow other 65 to 100w chargers without an issue, now it pops up on the battery with an exclamation saying this isn't a real Asus charger so you may not get the performance etc... So looking for another 100w charger for the other dock.

Got the same bag, landed today. Also a usb hub, usb-c L adaptor and stick protectors.
The bag is pretty good, I've actually had it about 3 weeks, the silicon case thing I need to shave around the analogues as it seems to restrict them :(

You guys using any frame generation mods or lossless scaling app with frame generation?

Mostly FSR 2 or 3 if available in game, otherwise RSR. I've reading a lot about this lossless scaling and I don't know if it's going to be a good buy with FMF soon to be released on the ROG.
What I see on Reddit is that lossless scaling is only good on some games. Some even say it only works good on games you already getting 60fps on. So it's still unclear to me if it's going to be beneficial on the stuff I play.
FMF will be a free upgrade, lossless scaling not. So I'll wait patiently for FMF (apparently way better than lossless).

I miss my Ally but if I had it I would have used the Lossless scaling. I bought it on steam for R72 once off. Miracle app.

Put your games in windowed mode. 720p resolution and upscale to 1080p with frame generation. Now you can finally use the 120Hz screen as intended because I know the Ally lacks a bit of power to push games to that fps and have decent screen quality.

Not only that lower resolution rending means less vram being used.

I saw some good reviews on the new lossless scaling version on the ally. For example.

Been using lossless scaling for a bit and it's pretty decent.
I tried it on arkham asylum and arkham city to get 120fps it worked extremely well.
It was also pretty decent for mafia definitive edition and zelda botw with minimal artifacts.

From my experience , I'd say a base of ~45 fps is needed for a decent experience. Anything lower than that and it's not worth it because of all the artifacts and the input lag that come from the base frame rate being so low.

Then again, some people swear by it being amazing when going from 30 -> 60 fps so you just have to try it out yourself

Yeah I find that game in windowed mode and then scale LS1 upscaler to like 1.4 or 1.3 and the. enable the frame generation. You can play games on high or very high settings and still get 100+ fps

For those who own a PS5 and Ally, is it worth getting a PS5 if I already have an ally?

I'm awaiting GTA 6 in the future. I'd like to play God of War which is buggy on Windows.

Some news about my ROG Ally. Today I had some time so I opened it up again, disconnected the battery, reconnected it and tried to charge it again. After about 30 min of charging it started up, and I was able to play some G.I. on a 28W preset plugged into the Ally Asus power adapter. Battery was charged at 99%. It seemed to work flawlessly for maybe 20minutes until it suddenly died. Disconnecting and reconnecting the battery this time does not seem to work and even the yellow LED does not turn on during charging. It appears to be completely dead. Well that was strange.

Not even with the power pack plugged in??

For a device that cost over R13k I wouldn't want to have this conversation with whomever you got it from. Is the charge controller part of the main board or not? If not then it might be a good idea to replace it. I know in some laptops the charge controller dies if it tried to charge a defective battery for to long. Not sure if it is the same problem.
