ATI Card Delivery

Shaddow if you got 10gb to burn i can offer you a key i got with my 5770's.

Pm me if you want the key, don't pm me for the key if you don't intend on playing the game though. No point wasting the key

Hi, thank for the offer. Unfortunately card does not work on top of everything. Will mail sybaritic shortly.

Got the Dirt2 Steam Voucher with my Club3D 5850. Feels like a big FU since I don't have broadband

It gets better, now the card refuses to work. Was not picked up first time so put the onboard graphics connector back on. To do this however I had to take the card out coz of its size and once I re-sat it in the board it immediately worked. Posted my last post and then played Crysis, ran benchmarks and it was looking good. This morning, nothing again, fortunately I left the onboard graphics connector on and just needed to connect the monitor. Tried last night's trick but nothing. Have taken the card out all together.

Cannot put my 9800gt back in as it is promised for sale so sticking to on board for now. :-( Guess will have to convert my delivery date to a virtual delivery.

Order date 24 November 2009, delivery .....

My 4770 did the same. It was working for about 4 months.. then died. PC completely dead. But if I remove the power to the card the PC will boot, but obviously complained about no power, tried it on two other PC's and the same problem. I sent it back to Syba, but still waiting.. :( In the meantime I upgraded to a HD5770 or else I would've been without a card for a while...

so is syba a reliable shop ? as i am looking to upgrade my 9800gt 512 to a strong 1gig 5 series . and i dont want to wait tooo long . otherwise no point in upgrading lol

Why not try Wootware? Their service is awesome! You can speak live to their consultants, and they can confirm stock etc, further, they then use Fedex to get your package to you, and insurance on your package is included already.

No credit card facility :(

ordered yesterday, picking up today!

how the F can an online store have no credit card facility? :wtf:

Thanks for the mention GhostSixFour.

With regards to the credit card facilities. It's something that we've been looking at implementing for some time. There are additional expenses and risks that have made it an unfavourable option thus far, but we're still looking into implementing it.

Essentially we'd have to increase our prices by roughly 4-5% on each item to make up for the credit card fees and fraud risk. This in itself becomes a bit tricky. You don't want to disincentivise buyers that are paying cash, by giving them the higher fees as well. Yet, Mastercard and VISA specifically prohibit so-called 'credit card surcharges'.

One option is to have 2 prices (one for cash, one for CC). However, I don't know how well that would sit with most credit card users. To the forumites that use credit cards, what would your opinion be on this?

Going to need to make a plan, I wonder how Sybaritic do it? There prices aren't bad and they accept credit cards.

I don't think many proper online PC shops have the facility, in fact I think Sybaritic is the only one which I think is the only reason they do well.

is wootware int ? i cant go onto it .... lol mmm lemme try again with int :P

I am comparing sybaritic and wootware pricing at least for the items I am after. The price difference is not enough for me to skip. Despite everything with the 5850, I think they are the goto shop. Bring on the competition yes ... I used to shop at digital planet.

Go 3D Secure to prevent fraud. Also play the banks against each other for lower percentages. Furthermore if you do charge different prices for CC and Visa/MasterCard get wind of it they will shut you down!!

I hear you. We could use 3D-Secure and VISA Verified. As far as I know, you are allowed to charge different amounts based on payment method, it's just the way in which it's handled that makes the difference. Credit Card Surcharge = No no. Cash Discount = Perfectly fine.

I will speak to the banks about this, although if PayPal indeed does come to SA with FNB, that'll likely be the route that we'll take.

9 April 2010

Well Card is finally here. Not in my machine but will see tonight if and how long it works.

Anyone willing to offer their Dirt2 voucher if they are not going to use it. Should have taken up the previous offer but no foresight on my part :-(
