hahha, what a clip.
would liked to have seen more, after the explosion.
if they were using plastic explosives then surely they'd need an electrical charge to start the explosion?
I thought those were dynamite?
I stand to be corrected, but that is dynamite.
Any idea of what they where bashing in with those crowbars? Looks like they stuck them through the cash slot?
Lastly, why don't they arm these ATM's with some kind of device that alerts security when the bashing in with the crowbars start?
There are a number of ways they could fight this. The problem at the moment is upgrading all of the machines simultaneously. I am sure they are furiously trying to find a solution. Question is, what is the next target the criminals will turn to after this?
mmm... somebody high up has been reading your post...Can't they rig the ATM up with dye that stains the banknotes rendering them useless if any tampering takes place?
Several South African banks are now in the process of installing dye staining devises in ATMs to render the banknotes worthless after an explosion.
It comes in the midst of an ongoing spate of ATM bombings across the country.
I would assume by the high incident of atm bombings that they earning a reasonable living out of it. Having said that the mess left behind by a demolished atm, plus the noise, smoke, fire etc they may not have time to pick up all the notes...I heard that most of the time they don't get away with the cash but I could be mistaken
