The dye solution is about time. I can guess why it took them so long to even consider implementing this. Its called an inside job.

Having said that the mess left behind by a demolished atm, plus the noise, smoke, fire etc they may not have time to pick up all the notes...

I assume the notes are in cartridge like thingies to keep the denominations separate.

They should wire the ATMs slots with heavy current.The next tsotsi with a crowbar will be surprised...

Afaik most of the frontal bombings fail because the armour is heavier on that side. On the back/side the armour is not that heavy...but one still needs explosives *and* powertools.
