The United States could unleash vastly superior firepower if it attacked Iran but Tehran could strike back against its forces in Iraq and threaten oil supplies crucial to the world economy.

Speculation is growing that President George Bush could launch military action before he leaves office in January 2009 even though Washington says it is committed to resolving the crisis over Iran's disputed atomic ambitions diplomatically.

Only one country has ever been stupid enough to use nuclear weapons.

That was not stupid it was clever, it ended a war and saved millions of lives but what would snotkoppe know anyhow? As soon as the Islamic terrorist have a nuke we talk again!

why the f does he want to go and bomb and kill more ppl? what the hell is his problem? he is the real terrorist here.

Don't worry to answer alan. We'll ignore your pointless accusations for now.

I'm just not sure that the only country ever to have dropped a nuclear bomb should be the world's self-appointed policeman.

Note for the hard of understanding: this does not mean that Iran should have a bomb. Nor many other countries, for that matter.

Edit: alan, I know my history, and am quite certain I've never gioven a bomb to anyone, or supported the acquisition of nuclear weapons by anyone.

LOL coming from the kind of people stupid enough give possibly the world's biggest mass murderer ever the bomb :o

Yes rather a miilion more die from an invasion of Japan.

Actually, declassified evidence suggest that Japan was trying to surrender at the time. The bomb was used more as a warning to the USSR than an attempt to end the war.

Belligerence and unilateralism are not good attributes for a policeman either.

Well faced with a criminal I'd rather a policeman be belligerant then pacifist thank very much.

Uncovered by who "coomondreams"

They didn't even surrender after the first one. Not only that but the U.S still had to make concessions after the second one.

So what you plan on doing to stop glowing Ahemi getting one?
