Dogs are animals first and pets later. All dogs can snap, and when one snaps, its so much easier for other dogs to join in. Pack mentality. They are hunters. Poodles and sausage dogs too, all of them.. I think some breeds are more likely to snap. But they all have that inbuilt instinct to kill. You are a walking piece of bloody meat when that happens.

Dogs and cats may have a Hunting Instinct which has lessened through the ages since they were domesticated but definitely no "Killer Instinct". Poodles and Sausage Dogs may kill flying insects this is because they play too roughly - nothing more.

yeah, could say the same thing about lions and other predators. Takes them forever to kill that poor bloody zebra. They just playing hard though.

They also had a story about a boy walking home from school. 1 dog attacked him. Other dogs from other houses then jumped their fences and joined in. Big dogs, small dogs, all kinds, those dogs were not friends, they were just in pack mentality. They ripped off his arm, and nearly killed him, he managed to survive by hiding in a trailer where he passed out and was found.

The program showed parallels between domesticated animals *in a pack*, and wild dogs, wolves, dingos.. There was quite alot of video footage of people like you getting mauled. "Ohhh cute is a dingo... hahaha I think he likes me hahaha Im having so much fun, hello mr dingo.... OH JEEEEZUZ *being dragged away by his leg*

If they didn't have a killer instinct, then people wouldn't be getting killed. Im not against domesticated animals, because its not such a frequent occurence, and you are more likely to get shot by a human.

and yeah, humans DO have pack mentality. Its called a mob. People do disgusting things when they are in pack mentality. Far worse than when they are by themselves.

I have heard of a sausage dog killing a baby, it was part of a documentary I watched. BBC.

I googled 10 pages and this is all I came up with regarding sausage dogs killing a baby. Theoretically it is possible, only because they have been bred to hunt badgers that are often bigger than they are. So far I can't see any evidence that this has ever happened.

To get back to the original thread .. about dogs killing people.

Maybe this is the article you meant. It's about a Staffie killing a Miniature Dachshund. That’s hardly news. In fact the Dachshund's owner admits "I don't think it wanted to hurt me, it was after the dogs, but it was terrifying"

Again it may be possible, but not probable. I would say it's urban legend at best. I don't believe everything on TV!

By the way Dingoes’ are WILD dogs. No I wouldn't pat one. I expect that they probably have a Hunting Instinct so that they can survive! You can't blame any animal for that.

A killer instinct on the other hand, you will probably encounter in a TV game. This would be to kill without a thought. Not to hunt, not to retaliate for being teased or beaten, but because you are genetically programmed to do so.
