Attempted Murder?

Ignorance about HIV is no longer an excuse. A huge amount of money, effort and time have been put towards education. So while I won't go as far as to say somebody deserves HIV, I don't have the sympathy for "a playa gettin' his own" than I'd have for a paramedic that contracts it in the course of his job or a woman that is raped.

I said people who get the aids from having sex with complete strangers, deserve it.

I have always considered myself a old fasioned kind of guy. I for example believe a relationship or marriage should be monogamous. I understand that their are many kinds of relationships and marriages and I accept that and as long as the two people are happy ... then I respect that ... but it is not for me and not my ideal I want to strive towards.

Outside of a relationship or marriage ... I believe that as long as it is two consenting adults (or more I suppose in case of a 3way or whatever the case may be) and it is done safely and with respect for each other ... then there is nothing wrong with it. I am not going to judge. Is it something I do every Friday night? Very far from it ... but that is me and if someone else does it .... that is his/her choice. Does that make it right for me to tell someone who contracts HIV because of it that they deserve it? Most definately not. Could it have been prevented? Chances are that it could have been ... but be that as it may .... I will never ever say to someone or proclaim to the world that someone deserved to get AIDS or Cancer or MS or what the hell ever.

I am not the most tactful of person .... and I have had many a rant here on mybb with some strong opinionated views regarding the death penalty etc .... but one thing I will never ever to is tell someone they deserved to get aids because of a mistake they made.

My housemate ... she had gay friend .... he was a bit of a party animal. He went to London for a year or so .... he came back with HIV. We suspect that he got into heavy things and made a mistake. Was it a stupid thing to do ... I would say so (if it is true of course) .... do I judge him? NO .... from what she told me he is a lovely person and would not hurt a fly. Could his infection have been prevented? Yes (apart from the fact that condoms are not 100% effective 100% of the time). Do I think he deserved being infected with HIV? No ... I do not. I think it is sad.

HIV is a scourge on this planet ... as are so many other dread diseases .... and to say someone deserves it is terrible.

I have always enjoyed abzo .... but on this I am standing firm. I could be right ... I could be wrong .... but this is how I feel and what I think is right.
 
Abzo you a were a bit mean, actually very mean because you can get hiv on the first one night stand the same as you can get it on the 50th one.

Now is it a crime to be mean? Not really. I don't subscribe to karma. I like chi though.

Chill, abzo. I know what you are saying and although I won't use the word "deserve", I think we are actually on the same side here.
 
Well its clear who sleeps with strangers around here...

But to each his own, whatever floats your boat. I'm just glad I don't have to marry someone who has been with a million other people and he can say the same about me.

And sure, mistakes happen, but just know if you look for sht you will find it - you know the consequences before you engage in wreckless activities.

No one deserves to get aids. Just like you deserve to know the status of your partner.



People have sex, just a fact of life. Yeah, we all know about the risks involved, some might be put off, some will go ahead anyway. Even though, protection isn't always 100% safe. If you have aids, FKing tell us!

no one deserves it but if you go around banging everything that walks then chances are high and if you dont take precautions then you deserve it

It's the equivalent of letting a stranger drive your car without asking to check for a license. condoms are VERY effective, so much that if you simply suited up, you may not have gotten AIDS(or kids) in the first place. they HAND CONDOMS OUT, FOR FREE. and considering the price of prostitutes, i am sure people can splurge on a pack of condoms :p

No ... just like you are taking a chance driving to work everyday of being high jacked. Does not mean if you do get high jacked you deserved it .... or if you sleep with someone you just met and something bad happens to you like having your throat slit, raped or contracting HIV that you deserved it. Is it a clever thing to do? No ... but most human beings do stupid things ... I am not gonna pretend I am high and mighty and have never done something stupid in my life. People make mistakes. Condoms break. Life happens. Does that make it ok for me to point to someone and say you deserved to get Aids because you did something stupid? No ..... it does not.

You guys can think people deserve to get Aids because they are sluts and whores and promiscuis or whatever. I will just say that we are all human ... we all make mistakes and do stupid things. Be careful of judging someone that was dealt this hand too harshly and throwing stones.
 
Not sure why people are up in arms about the "deserve it" part. Even though it was initially said flippantly, like everything else, I do stand by it. Had I said the flu instead of aids, would it be any different? Sure, it's on a different scale but the principle remains the same.

Life is about choices, decisions and consequences. If you decide to choose to have sex with a complete stranger and contract something from that, the consequences are fully deserved. No responsible person would deny that.
 
well if you know schit happens and you try that schit then its another story

yes we all human and make mistakes....

and no one needs to sleep around with 20 people to get aids and schit

you might sleep with that wrong one ....but thats why rather trust someone

thats why aids will always spread cause of people thinking condoms will work always
