Attempted Murder?

Not sure why people are up in arms about the "deserve it" part. Even though it was initially said flippantly, like everything else, I do stand by it. Had I said the flu instead of aids, would it be any different? Sure, it's on a different scale but the principle remains the same.

Life is about choices, decisions and consequences. If you decide to choose to have sex with a complete stranger and contract something from that, the consequences are fully deserved. No responsible person would deny that.

I am 100% with you on this one.

no one deserves it but if you go around banging everything that walks then chances are high and if you dont take precautions then you deserve it

Look obviously I use protection, the point i'm trying to make is that if someone does have aids, and goes around having sex with loads of people, they should tell them they have aids. Protection or not, I want to know!

That would defeat the purpose of them wanting to spread it (if the urban legends are true) ...

Do some gumtree ads say "btw i'm going to scam you lol"

People who have sex deserve to get HIV and die. Even if you're in a comitted relationship and you use condoms. You know the condom can break, so you're knowingly taking a risk.
People who smoke deserve to get lung cancer and die.
People who do drugs deserve to OD and die.
People who speak to strangers in the street deserve to get shot in the face and die. Those people may be gangsters and you're taking a risk by speaking to them.
People who have children deserve to get pneumonia and die. They choose to put their kids in school with other kids who carry diseases.
People who go to work deserve to die of TB because someone at work might cough on you.

So many risks!!! Argh!!!

;)

I with you on this one. It's up to you as the individual. This situation does not apply to me, but I would imagine, that if you were going to have a one night stand, you make sure you use a condom. Whether it always works is another problem.

Question is, if you knew someone had HIV, would you still sleep with them using a condom knowing they have it?

Yes those are perfect analogies, they're all equivalent to having sex with a complete stranger because all risks are equal...

makes so much sense

if you run in traffic you deserve to get knocked and killed

There's a difference between taking a risk for something that is a necessity (eg. driving to work or walking to the corner shop) vs taking a risk for something that is just a want. If you can't control your physical desires then don't expect life to give you tasty sweet lemonade instead of lemons!

Look at the subject of the thread: Attempted murder. You say no, and I say yes. I'f you're likening this to nigerian scams, then you're agreeing the behaviour of these individuals is criminal.

So driving to work, keeping to the speed limit and perhaps forgetting to lock my doors and being robbed/hi-jacked is the same as going out to a bar, meeting a stranger and having unprotected intercourse with woman then getting HIV?

Perhaps it is a stupid analogy ... but saying someone deserved getting Aids is just as stupid.

Anyway ... I am clearly outnumbered. If you guys think people that makes a mistake deserves Aids then so be it. I am just glad I do not share that way of thinking.

do you go out and pick up random guys ?

do you not think there is a high risk of picking up that schit ?

Once is a mistake. Over and over again is not a mistake and that's what the problem is - people don't just sleep with one random person but a few which is how all kinds of diseases are spreading like wildfire.

Are you being homophobic? And anyway, ockie has stated multiple times that if you find schit on your dick, you're doing it wrong. :D

No I do not ... but I have also had my encounters with guys online (though you actually do have guys on there that declare their status as positive).

I do think there is a risk of picking something up ... and I do think that protection must be used always. Does not change the fact that I think saying someone deserves Aids is stupid. If a person acted foolishly or was stupid and had a encounter and did for example not use a condom .. then yes ... he was stupid and looking for trouble. Do I think he or anyone for that matter deservess Aids? No ... I dont. Do I think anyone deserves Cancer even if they are a smoker or was tanning in the sun every weekend? No ... I do not. To wish that on someone ... or like here saying somone deserves it is terrible.

I am tired of this conversation now. You guys think people that makes a mistake deserves Aids ... I choose not to judge them and dont think they do ... even though I also think shagging a stranger every second night is a risky business.

I think I am done with this topic.

when you pick up people at clubs and stuff ...i am sure that people dont bother about condoms and stuff since you drunk and horny

where you pick up guys online and at "meets" then we can say its a mistake

but going out to a club saying hey im getting drunk and then finding someone to bang ..and you get that schit then its hectic
