Not sure why people are up in arms about the "deserve it" part. Even though it was initially said flippantly, like everything else, I do stand by it. Had I said the flu instead of aids, would it be any different? Sure, it's on a different scale but the principle remains the same.

Life is about choices, decisions and consequences. If you decide to choose to have sex with a complete stranger and contract something from that, the consequences are fully deserved. No responsible person would deny that.

I with you on this one. It's up to you as the individual. This situation does not apply to me, but I would imagine, that if you were going to have a one night stand, you make sure you use a condom. Whether it always works is another problem.

Question is, if you knew someone had HIV, would you still sleep with them using a condom knowing they have it?

There's a difference between taking a risk for something that is a necessity (eg. driving to work or walking to the corner shop) vs taking a risk for something that is just a want. Once is a mistake. Over and over again is not a mistake and that's what the problem is - people don't just sleep with one random person but a few which is how all kinds of diseases are spreading like wildfire.

No I do not ... but I have also had my encounters with guys online (though you actually do have guys on there that declare their status as positive).
