Audi Feedback -

Its more of an SA Corporate attitude than anything else...

Def try and get Audi Germany involved, they possibly might come down on Audi SA like a ton of bricks for being useless...

LOL @ offer ;)

I'll fix it myself through them and keep the car - I still love the car and driving her. My main concern is will this fix last 8,000km again because of something Audi has overlooked and wants nothing to do with? Is there a part somewhere that causes these issues?

I'd have accepted driver abuse far easier than this cop out excuse

Yeah, main concern is that the next clutch fails once again. I know of a time or two where Audi Germany have stepped in and slapped some wrists in order to get issues like this sorted out, so them plus the MIO would be my port of call.

I seem to remember you saying you went for the manual instead of the auto to avoid the clutch/gearbox issues? Fat lot of help that did. :(

Yea I'll let them know - thanks.

Even if they just diagnose and investigate the reasons behind the premature failures.

I picked up the clutch issue in a few days after collecting - it was nothing to do with me.

I've had a single clutch replaced on an older car at 120,000km in my 16 years driving - I know how to drive. However I've been fairly 'in' with Volvo over the past 5 years and know how they operate.

There's no common denominator

Relax, I'm just giving you ****.

Sorry man - just a little annoyed at them ;)

Nah I had no choice in the matter - I would have chosen S Tronic, but at the price a manual would suffice ;) When I collected it though and mentioned I would have preferred S Tronic, the guy at the dealer said a clutch limited my costs.

Which is true I guess - R25,000.00 vs who knows for an S Tronic should that break!

TBH, the fact that the clutch will no longer be covered is a material piece of information that Audi should have told you when they did the VIN check and by not telling you they didn't disclose all defects on the vehicle. It could be considered grounds to reverse the transaction.

Do you know is worse than that?

They drove my car the week before and agreed the clutch needed attention, at which point they took my VIN again.

They ordered the part, booked me in the following week, I took a days leave and dropped the car before 8am like requested, arranged another car for the following day (say it takes 2 days minimum) - and they then phone at 15:00 to say 'oops! not covered'

I wasted a full day and I don't know what they did with the car the entire day - they hadn't even touched it

*blink*

Seriously? I wouldn't even bother with the DP in that instance, I'd have gone straight to Audi Germany.

Will Audi Germany not just forward to SA and say 'your baby!' ?

I've dealt with a few products where it is just forwarded to the SA or EMEA region

Tell them that Audi SA are washing their hands of it and refuse to even do BASIC diagnostic work to determine why the vehicle is eating clutches..

Cool - will try that tonight.

Hoping their English is decent ;)

Thanks man

Good luck dealing with them - I seriously and honestly mean that. Not sure if you recall the guy with the Scirocco R and the endless pain VWSA gave him, well Audi is a bit worse.

Dolby is going to have to circulate TWO pictures on facebook/forums with a broken S4 in them :p

Nah I remember that story - THAT was unreal considering the car was expensive and brand new!

I'm OK with buying the clutch myself, I did budget for it - but this is where Audi lacks (for those that don't want to go through the OP) :

1) They can provide a diagnosis / investigation / paperwork into why two clutches were burnt in less than 20,000km
2) Instead of citing driver abuse or not knowing how to drive, how about OPENING the clutch and see where the issue lies?
3) If the 2nd clutch was replaced under warranty - it shoes a fault. Who says this fault was fixed as no evidence is given?

I chatted to the previous owner this morning. He's got 4 or 5 cars - including an Audi A3 2.0T that he bought brand new in 2006 on it's original clutch. In fact, all cars are on their original clutches. He's been driving for 20+ years and owned plenty manuals without issue.

This is out of character and it can easily be seen that something is a different in this case

Remember, this is their product still covered FWP - you'd expect some assistance from Audi SA. I ch

:) True, at least the guy with the Roc got sorted in the end. Just a pity he had to endure such drama before he was helped. I really do hope Dolby does not have to go through that.

Hang on. The warranty on th e clutch would have been transferred on change of ownership, not so? They should replace it under that warranty then, if they dont want to claim from Motor Plan. (How long ago was the previous clutch replaced?)

hehe.

Thing is the car is awesome - doesn't miss a beat and is solid. Suspension great and I've seen the FWP history - there's nothing untoward there. The clutch is the issue and it's only recently become an issue
