over there..
Howzit guys,

Wanted some thoughts about the Audi S3, either 2009 or 2010 model and also what's good prices to expect?

Cheers.

what is it for ? how old are you etc :) we need details to advise

all depends what you want it for, i have one, it serves many needs but not all.

Ok well, im 24, and been waiting a while to finally get a "high" performance car (currently driving a 1.4 Getz).

I've basically wanted and S3 since i was in university and saw one *drool*, anyway, i have an opportunity to get one now, thanks to my awesome job :)
I love driving and really want a car that will enable me to enjoy driving even more, and there literally is nothing like the feel of getting sucked into your seat when you floor your accelarator :D

I've looked at other cars like the BMW 130i Sport, the Golf 6 GTI, the OPC, BMW 135i, etc etc, but i prefer the S3, for looks yes, but also for that 188Kw Quattro engine with that 350Nm of Torque..

i've looked around here n there, and have a list of specs im aiming for,

2009/2010 Model
Sportback
Manual
Panoramic Sunroof
Low Mileage(hopefully less than 40k)
SatNav(not crucial)
Colour also not crucial

Pricewise, im looking at less than 350K, mainly due to the fact that my company will pay for my insurance upto R360k ;)

So yea, thoughts? Am i being too naive? and can i get one at a good price? well, what is a good price?

Cheers guys,

I'm not answering the question - but have you driven the 135i?

My next car will be S3 or 135i ... but I'd sway towards the 135i ... so curious as to your thoughts

Lol, yes i have driven the 135i and it is def more of a beast than the S3(225Kw>>188Kw :D), but there are a few deal breakers for me...

1. I am not a fan of 2 door cars
2. I do generally have passengers, and the back seat is not all that large as well as getting ppl into and out of the back
3. Price
4. I think the interior of the S3 is slightly more detailed/extensive than the 135i

I have always been a BMW fan, but right now they are not serving my purpose..

Can't go wrong with Audi. If you minus the potential massive maintenance costs, you have the best cars in the world. Would buy an Audi just for the interior.

Insurance will be pretty high being the age you are now but otherwise it's an excellent choice.

My advice - Go give one a test drive. Certainly won't be disappointed :D

Hehehee *excited*

lol the one reason i am considering getting the car now, at my age, is that my company pays for my insurance, upto R360K

Another thing, any idea whats the price like to extend the maintenance plan??

well u can't really go wrong with the S3, other than the extra power of the bmw.

the price for the maint plan went up latly, 20 000km costs like 10k, 40 000 about 18k

Why has no one asked this...?

WTF do you do that your company would pay for your car insurance and you can afford a S3?

lol, i know it is upsetting, but guess i got the luck of the draw when it comes to jobs(i am an engineer),

and i am buying this car will sting my pocket a bit(30% residual FTW), but i think everyone is allowed to have some indulgences :D

A friend of mine had a S3 for a while, if its speed you looking for definitely go with the S3 its awesome. He chipped it with Revo stage 1 and that car was a monster.
