Audi S3 - Thoughts

Hmm, I'd go for the DSG gearbox. Have you driven an Audi with DSG? Wayyy better than manual!

i actually haven't been in the S-Tronic model, but maybe i should test drive them both to see :)

Compared to the Golf 6 DSG, is it better or worse?

Lucky Guy.
Only 24 and you're shopping around for a fast car.
Whatever you choose, drive safe. (I'd go for the S3 :) )
Goodluck

Are you sure that they will pay for your insurance for S3? I know you mentioned R360k but the premium will be hugely inflated for because of your age AND it is a very fast car, insurance will be as much as the repayments...

The insurance is part of a company's car allowance scheme, they don't care about boy racers. As long as you're on the correct level you can buy up to what the allowance says:). All of them drive 135i's, S3's, 335, etc.

geez, did i get a rubbish deal. I was an electronic engineer, i worked for siemens, i got paid average

I'm taking a guess here and saying he's mechanical engineer and working loads of overtime. That's the way these guys operate..

The S3 DSG in the best car you can buy for under R 650k

Howzit guys,

Wanted some thoughts about the Audi S3, either 2009 or 2010 model and also what's good prices to expect?

Cheers.

Thoughts: Good looking, rapid and fun to drive. Don't buy a Sportback; it is noticeably slower than the 2-door <-- have owned both.
Price: Pay no more than R350k for a 2009 model. Trade values are very bad so you'll have to keep it a while to break even.

Take a look at these...

Sweet,

thanks DarkDenim :)

very sad hearing bout the Sportback tho, coz i dont think a 3 door is an option, seeing that you have owned both the 3 and 5 door, what other car would you suggest as a equivalent rival - also along same pricing and value for money?

Cheers mate!

"the price for the maint plan went up latly, 20 000km costs like 10k, 40 000 about 18k"

is this only applicable to cars bought from the dealership?

also, can this price be added onto the cost of the car?

As long as you have a current maint plan intact this is the extension cost, for any audi dealership!
