The S4 is 2010 / 76,000km and AFP to April 2017 - R330,000
The A5 2.0T Quattro is 2012 / 30,000km and AFP to June 2017 - R307,000.00

Do I go for the more mature, responsible route and go for the newer car, new interior and lower KM?
Or hooligan mode and get the older S4 for R23,000 more?

What will be worth more, do you think, in a few years?

Motor plan on either of them? Would hate to have to replace a gearbox/turbo on an S4 out of motor plan

Don't you already have an S4?

Another question- what's the difference in insurance premiums between the two?

I owe you a reply, just remembered.

I'd get the S4, you're not old enough to choose head over heart. That being said the A5 is a stunner and makes a good second choice.

What are the spec levels like on each?

Depends... If something breaks can you afford to fix it? If yes then get the S4 then Revo it the day after the Motorplan expires...

Manual though... Traffic's a bitch.

S4 S-tronic. A5 is an A4 inside, too high a premium just for a better looking exterior.

*edit*

Resale value would be on par I'd imagine. A5 keeping some value due to its looks and desirability, S4 due to its performance and scarcity.

Also, I've heard blind spots are very bad in the A5. PDC a must.

Makes more sense.

I'd go for the S4 then. As you said- too much of a premium for a better looking (and less practical) exterior.
A5 or A5 Sportback? If standard A5, then yes practicality is worse... If it were me, I'd go with an A5 sportback

You had me at S-Tronic. Definitely the S4!

If you go for the A5, there will always be the thought of maybe you should have gone for the S4. Can't imagine it would be the other way around.

S-TRONIC.
A5 isn't worth it, glorified A4.

But keep in mind maintenance plan, and cost of insurance.

* Both cars covered under warranty till middish 2017.
* I have an S4 manual now - manual is killing me though.
* Haven't checked insurance yet - will call them tomorrow :)
* S4 is loaded with R100k extra - B&O, Sports Diff, Dynamic Steering, Drive Select, Reverse Camera, Adaptive Cruise, Adaptive Lights, Side Assist/Blind Spot Detector, PDC, Navigation/DVD, high beam assist - no sunroof though. The A5 is also pretty loaded with S Line kit in/out, B&O, Audi Music Interface, panaramic roof, PDC rear etc

That does look lovely... But the way you emphasised the S4 spec, as if it is considerably better than that of the A5? Sunroofs are overrated :p

I would go for the A5, personal preference though. Both are great cars, but man that A5 is sooo sexy! Good luck mate.

Gorgeous, pic of the S4? Otherwise a pic of your current will do.

2010 S4 S-Tronic was R 606 500 vs R 330 000
2012 A5 2.0T Quattro was R 477 000 vs R 307 000

My heart is with S4...

Excellent way to put it.
