They've actually increased torque on that 2.0T for that A5 Quattro to 350nm. Gives it a claimed 6.6 seconds and more than likely a real world sub 7 seconds which isn't too bad

Same specs as mine. I think it'd be enough to keep you happy... And plenty room for play with stage 1 software after (or during ;)) plan, 190 - 200kW easy.

I don't miss the torque of my 2.5 V6 at all.

Have you driven your mate's A5?

The S4 is 2010 / 76,000km and AFP to April 2017 - R330,000
The A5 2.0T Quattro is 2012 / 30,000km and AFP to June 2017 - R307,000.00

Do I go for the more mature, responsible route and go for the newer car, new interior and lower KM?
Or hooligan mode and get the older S4 for R23,000 more?

What will be worth more, do you think, in a few years?

The responsible choice is usually the one with fewer km.

Yea I wouldn't mod - think I'm over that now :) We went out last night and I was going to drive it, but it got dark quick and was quite busy. He's only 5km away so I'll make another plan.

That RS5 grill is over R11k :(

Is a replica grill available? Seen many on the Audi forum with those grills

Some aficionados (like Postmanpot) prefer the opposite. Higher km, lower purchase price.

:D

I wouldn't touch a low km vehicle with only a few months or a year of motor plan.

Something with higher kms would have stood the test of time.

The lower purchase price goes a long way (especially if you don't believe in financing) by taking a small risk. The risk is smaller with the FSH on the system, doing your research, etc.

+1 on this.

Mentioned it before, but got my 2008 A4 B8 3.0Tdi with 97k km for R199 000. No body wanted to touch a diesel out of a plan.

These days you get some decent warranties for that extra assurance in case something breaks.

My bad, only after seeing the posters here did I realise this is yet another "The Audi Thread".

Carry on.

I sat behind an A5 Sportback 3.0 TDi on the way back to work this afternoon. Look the business and scampered off properly (despite the Accord trying to keep up :().

My vote would still go S4, but comparing it to a higher capacity A5 would make things difficult.

Why are so many A5 on Autotrader 'multitronic' ?
Did they offer this at one stage?

I wasn't even aware there was a multitronic anymore

They still offer multitronic today. Only really the higher end models that use S-tronic (and the A1/A3)

Not really. No one wants the multitronic because it's garbage, relatively speaking. S-tronic is what's in demand.

I agree with the old multitronic, but the newer stuff is actually quite nice.

A few years back my wife had an A4 multitronic. I did not like driving it. It was laggy and unpredictable.
When my A5 that I got late last year went to Audi for some repairs, they loaned me a 2013 A5 multitronic. Because of my experience with my wife's car I was a bit bummed they were loaning me this, but hey - only a few days.
I was pleasantly surprised. None of the negatives I had experienced were there. It was a really nice car to drive around for a few days. Just takes a while getting used to the constant drone of the engine.

But... Nothing touches my S-Tronic. Holy $*%& balls. I love flooring it from stop streets in this thing. I race the air if I have to.
