This engine is beautiful. I cannot begin to describe how much I love it.

beautifull? A busso V6 is a beautiful, a Pagani Mercedez engine with all that carbon is beautifull...what do you mean?

Nothing VAG is beautiful - but their 1.4 TSI is what I would call acknowledgeable. It has impressed me quite a bit, almost as much the 74kW NA 1.4 in my Corsa.

an underpowered Volkswagen engine impresses you ?

wow some people are too easy.

That the engine they use in the A3? Feck it's orsm.

HUH? Opened the bonnet and marveled at the sight of plastics covering the engine?

Performance is nothing spectacular... Even Opel managed 169kW from a production 2liter...

True that! But the new Chevrolet look is pretty awesome too, than again, maybe its the Opel influence.

+1 - I've had my B8 A4 2.0T Multi for two months now. Love the two sides to the car..................lazy mode in full automatic and crazy mode when you change it to Sport and use the paddles.

How is a 155kw 2.0 engine underpowered?
It's fairly insignificant, for example the Opel c20let sold 18 years ago that had the same power output (sold locally in the 200tS). I'm sure there are other manufacturers that have had that sort of output from 2litre turbo engines even before then.

While I was in high school I once had the pleasure of being a passenger in a Calibra with that engine - you simply can't believe the power that thing outputs. I guess it was the first time I looked at Opel and though of it as a nice car cause back then we pretty much had VW through out the family.
Sad that we do not get Vectras here (or Insignia now) but in SA people are generally VAG washed so they won't buy them in the same volumes they are sold in the UK for example.

It still doesn't make 155kw "underpowered" - at least not for a mid-level saloon car. 'sides - were any of those other 2.0l turbos returning 8.0l/100km?

not sure how many of you have actually driven the A4 2.0T but its a wonderful car.
enough pull to get you going. the engine would be even more fun in the A3 version.

It is a great car yes - especially if you drive one with a multitronic gearbox. Had the pleasure of doing that a few weeks ago and the seamless acceleration is really weird at first. Weird, but wonderful, until you put your foot down and then it accelerates like mad.

However, it is still a VAG and the boringness crept in after the first 10km. Its like a Camry was back in the late 90's - common and with no soul.
