If smooth never ending acceleration upto 9000rpm feels silly then you should stick to your walking ring!That Mazda 1.3l is a rotaryand not exactly fuel efficient and feels kind of silly to drive.
It's turbo charged, so hardly a fair comparison. Unless we talk about reliability because N/A reliability > Turbo engine reliability.
Q7 3.0l TDi no problems as well.
Have you ever driven a powerful 2L Turbo Petrol engine before?
People are always surprised by the power of Turbo Petrol but hardly surprising, Diesel not only suffers from low power (given the equivalent sized petrol engine) but I realized the other day that every Turbo Diesel I've driven had serious lag... Just maybe haven't driven the right ones tho.
However, get inside a 320d or even better a 330d and tell me its not quick...lag is about the same as in any other turbo car
so, what are you guys getting fuel consumption wise with this engine? i get around 12l/100km purely city driving and 9l/100km on the highway at 130km/h.
i kept up with a jaguar x-type v6 the other day quite easily, the guy didn't look too impressed.
You must be fairly heavy on the pedal.
I'm getting 9.8l/100km in city and on a long highway journey it drops right down to about 6.5l /100Km (That's also going 130Km/h)
That's with a multitronic gearbox.![]()
Wait a minute, I'm no car specialist but a 2002 MX-5 1.8L with a turbo charger produces 157 kW.... How is this that great? What am I missing?
