Audio Stutters in WMP11

I have a problem when playing low bitrate (40kbps) .mp3 files in Windows Media Player 11. It stutters every 5 seconds. It doesn't do this with players like VLC... Any suggestions?
 
download a codec pack like K-Lite. it might solve your problem.
 
why would u want such low/bad quality mp3's anyway
