Auto Stop-Start: Enable/Disable?

Well that sucks. Ours is also a 2015 (Q7), I've searched around on the other forums and where they say it is, there nothing there to change.
 
Used to use it often at stops where I know I'm going to stand still for a bit, but not in traffic that moves slow or a traffic light that I can see will be changing soon. Trick it to look for signs of how long the engine can be off before starting it again. It did make a difference in fuel consumption over the long run I'm sure. That car (Mazda CX-3) was super fuel efficient.

My "new" car doesn't have that feature though. It's a bit old for that :D
 
I don't like the stop start only because of the aircon, so all your potential fuel savings is negated by putting the fan on higher to cool down. The system was designed to reduce emissions and not fuel savings.

Measured the starter current draw on a 19tdi PD. Cold 350 to 495 amps. Hot restart 40 to 80 amps.
Oil pressure when cold - a few seconds. Hot restart - instant.

Will this affect the battery and starter - no. Will it reduce the starter life - yes, but not by much.

Obviously this will depend on how good your engine is, if it is properly tuned/serviced you will have no issues.

You can also inverse the light so it doesnt stay on permanently if you dont like the button luminated, then when you click the button the light will come on to say Stop'/Start active :)
 
BS feature, if it can't be disabled I wouldn't buy the car at all

imagine you come to a stop and notice an out of control other car coming your way fast, you put foot to narrowly avoid an accident only to hear your ignition before getting smashed to bits ... no thanks

That makes sense. My aircon is always on and I am going to have to replace the battery soon. Just not from Audi this time.

Get the one with the highest mAH for that size :) thats my plan minimum 100mAh
