Which car? If possible, pics of battery and relevant cable would be mightily appreciatedWas able to remove this "feature" on my car by yanking out the cable that runs into the battery. Happy days, 2yrs later
What car do you have? Switched a friend of mine's SQ5 to memory but I'm yet to find where to do it on our Q7. There's no app for that function for the Q7.I have switched mine to memory used OBDEleven so it stays off permanently.
I have a button next to the gear lever on my car that turns it off.Was able to remove this "feature" on my car by yanking out the cable that runs into the battery. Happy days, 2yrs later

Being in an HEV now you can't really go turn it off, but it's also a complete non-event for the same reason.
Unless you are driving a manual where it gets a bit weird I still don't understand this obsession people have with turning it off the whole time. Much like auto-parking brakes it's just not a problem and if you are going to be doing launches that's a few and far between event and would be overridden by other settings anyway.
I mean if it's not working properly then I fully agree it's an issue. Its not an obsession.
Its a dumb feature and almost had me roll back into a car who was sitting right on my bumper on stop start traffic on the n1.
We can discuss wear and tear too but thats a moot point

But surely a car with start/stop would also have hill assist or whatever they call it in every variety and it shouldn't be rolling back by itself?
It has hill assist but only kicks in when the angle is great enough. You also need to have your foot on the brake to start with i think
Its just the surprise of not having immediate power when you need it thats the issue.
But for me its sorted so its ok.
It’s quite annoying. I’ve developed muscle memory now around deactivating it whenever I start the car.Yeah I guess running an HEV it's not quite the same thing as I obviously have electric power at all times and the auto park brake is so fast I've never had a roll back issue I can remember.
Never "lived" with a normal car with start/stop long enough for it to annoy me but I can see how it would become and issue if it was implemented a bit kak like you explain.
