Auto Switching between DSL accounts

Greetings,

Does anyone have a clue on how to setup ones router to auto switch between DSL WAN accounts?

I have a VOX Bolt-On package for 6pm - 6am traffic, and a Telkom 50GB account for normal daytime traffic... Using a Netgear VEVG2660 Router from Telkom.

Just tired of having to log into router ever evening and morning to switch accounts...

Any advise will be appreciated

can do this with Mikrotik and pfsense.

Personally doing with Mirkotik, can run script at specific times and disable one account and then run following one.

Yeah, I thought about getting a RB711R2 but can't get stock... It would be the logical route... What modem do you use behind it?

So you got the VOX account for 6pm to midnight?
 
An old desktop - a couple of nics and Pfsense or straight linux if you are feeling adventurous.

A couple of cron jobs and you would be golden.
 
Then the Pfsense solution will be the best - it's quick and easy to setup - and super simple to configure.

Assuming you have a spare machine and 2 NICs that you can use.

I am "familiar" with MikroTik and WinBox... should of thought of that before i purchased the Netgear... :(

951i or G is fine. 1Watt wireless and 600mhz cpu. it is perfect.

I am using a telkom dlink modem. Bridge mode and dhcp is off.

They have gone up in price must say. I bought my 951 for 570 about a year or so ago.

nice thing is no ddns needed with MT and can do so much more with mikrotik than the normal netgear, dlink or what ever brand.

might upgrade to the 2011 soon and get myself a xClaim AP ;)

Scoop wanted me to Signup AGAIN after i placed my last order for some kit... did't bother... i'll look on Amazon or rocnoc. Thanks for the advise guys
 
My setup. Pfsense on vmware. 1 psycial nic on the mobo and 2 virtual nics. Works perfectly with my fatpipe and bolt-on but I would recommend to get 2 psycial nics I dont have time atm to put another nic.

For a single machine that would be perfect.... But i need the entire network to have the benefit of the Bolt-On.... So its best to have the gateway as the device handling the pppoe Switching and a modem/router behind that in passthrough mode...

This Netgear VEVG2660 I got said it can handle scheduled tasks... But it doesn't... Will switch it out when I get a chance...

Yeah... That would be awesome... But they lock the options down so tight on these units these days that you can't do ****e....
