Automatic Washing machine soap - which one and why?

Wellness Warehouse washing powder is the only thing that doesn’t have everyone breaking out in bay fever or much worse a rash.

Bioclassic... it's not soap. Enzymes to break down dirt. Omo, Ariel, Surf are all soap so it never really cleans properly.
There are enzymes in Omo, Ariel, Surf and pretty much all of them. So this is incorrect.

A while ago I could not find Bioclassic so I bought Sunlight 2 in 1 powder. I did not like it. Bought a box of Bioclassic again and gave the Sunlight powder to the domestic. I also use Astonish Oygen powder with the Bioclassic.

So for the past few years I have been using the Arial auto pods and they are handy to use but I do find that they don't wash my clothes so clean, and for some or other reason my pants and shirts fade on the fronts.

What do you guys/gals use to wash your clothes in? I have been using borax also and it works quite well, but am still not 100% happy.
(Maybe I am just full of nonsense)

Which brings me to a sub question - Do you have any idea why my shirts/pants would fade? it specifically fades on the fronts of pants and halfway down the front of my shirts, nowhere else.
Hang your clothes inside out,

Liquid over powder. Costs less, washes well and no scum build up in the tray.
Agreed - my wife likes the pods, I like either since we use a top loader and if you have something like a comforter in there the power does not completely dissolve and cause power patches.

Yip, found this out by chance when staying in a short term rental in Cape Town. They supplied liquid wash and insisted that no powder goes into their machines. Worked so well that we have never gone back to powder since.

Backstreetboy's Eco Egg laundry detergent review
I'm looking to buy a refill for the Eco egg for whites so doing this review.

It's basically a plastic egg (the egg itself supposedly lasts 10 years (I think it'll probably last longer)) that you fill with some black and a bunch of white pellets. They come in different fragrances but they only really smell initially. You get them for different amounts of washes from 50 and 70 to 210 (here you get more white pellet packs). The pellets do wear out and when they drop below the middle line you should refill the egg.

Does it work?
I'm not super active but walk to work and basically everywhere. From using the egg for almost a year now I find it does remove most stains. There's no smell however so if you're someone that associates clothes smelling like toilet spray as clean then this will not be for you. Unless you add your own fragrance.

TL;DR should you buy it?
I'd say yes. It works really well for me and I don't have to measure or scoop anything. It is expensive and their wash estimates don't seem correct. With that said I've got the 210 washes one for a year now and I'm yet to top up the white pellets. Doing laundry once a week it should last me 3 years as compared to their claimed 4 I think. It's going for R315 on TAL for the 70 washes one https://www.takealot.com/ecoegg-laundry-egg-fragrance-free-70-wash/PLID69346021 which works out to R4.50 per wash. Not bad at all I'd say.

We use the big tubs sold by Wellness Warehouse.

Only thing that doesn’t smell and doesn’t cause skin irritation.

Seems expensive at first but you use like two tablespoons per wash and so it lasts for months.
