i have watched drags, and rear wheel drive struggles a lot more in your street going cars.

Watch a few Bmw 135i's go down a strip, they can't grip at pull off, and struggle for grip even when clutching second, whereas front wheel in normal cars do spin, but tend to grip and go a lot easier.

Okes that modify their 135i's will tell you how hard it is for them to get grip from stand still. Though if taken to the track the 135i, will most likely anihilate a car doing a second quciker quarter mile, thats a front wheel drive, as it is a lot better in a track setting.

Obviously yes, in purpose made dragsters with those huge slicks at the back, it is a lot better and those could never be front wheel drive, but thats a whole different ball game.

And a rear wheel ferrari will pull off 10x better than most front wheel drive cars due to weight distrubution etc etc, but in your standard "normal cars" rear wheel drive really struggles off the line.

I bought Bridgestone run-flat tyres form my car recently. Cost me R1,600 a tyre. Was the cheapest I could find.

Not sure whether they're good or not, but I've never heard bad news about Bridgestones...

Are you comparing like for like in terms of torque and power here?
My car makes the same power as a 335i and let me tell you I spin in 1st, 2nd AND 3rd gear - and even on semi-slicks I spin in 2nd. And not just when I drop the clutch - I mean tyres just let go as the revs go over 3000. There are not many FWD cars that make 335i power, let me tell you. And those that do, battle like hell with traction.

I think a RACE between a type r and 86 will settle the off the line debate. Same power, different layout.
