Avg Update problems

My adsl line was installed last week. Everything Ok. Except I cannot update my avg free ver 7.5. Error message server name cannot be converted to the IP address.
Can Someone please help me. While I still have some hair,

Hi,

Can you connect ok to international sites? AVG checks internationally for updates (although it downloads them locally AFAIK).

If you can, check your firewall settings, a couple of "avg..." processes should be allowed through.

I have had the same experience, until I discovered that AVG Free is now upgraded to version 8, and it seems they have stopped updates to earlier versions. Try v8, it is worthwhile.
