Avoid Telkom shares

Uncertainty over Telkom’s future direction has led to minority shareholder RE:CM reducing its exposure while another analyst has suggested investors stay away.

So sad that a company with such phenomenal potential is being purposefully dragged down just because the powers that be can do so. Governments backward thinking and lack of vision smells of arrogance and incompetence of the highest order. It's almost as if they want Telkom to fail so that they can turn around and say "So What we did? What you gonna do about? If you dont like it leave!"...

I give up... We suppose to be moving forward as a country, and one of the enablers of progress is Telecommunications specifically broadband. But then you have Government taking us 10 steps backwards with each change of the guard.

I guess it makes sense not to buy Telkom shares for as long as GVT has their fingers in this pie....

Its risky but it might make perfect sense to buy in the knowledge that the government will bail the company out - possibly through nationalization. If you can buy Telkom shares for cheap and have government buy back the shares to accomplish nationalization: and remember forced nationalization will require reasonable compensation and so on.

Sadly I suspect that some connected individuals are driving such an approach.
