There are enough threads complaining about things, reckon a positive one would be nice :)

Been looking for a decent curry place in jozi for ages, there are a few, but they are usually quite pricey and well....snob like....

Decided to give the curry palace a go in the ferndale shopping centre...looked pretty dodgy from the outside but was one of the best curry meals I have had...
From a waiter who wrote down nothing for a 10 seat table to great portions and decent prices, this place was amazing...

If you like decent curry and want to get ur hands dirty, give it a bash!!!
Chicken Vindaloo FTW

what is the place? I usually frequent Ghazal in Sunninghill. They have held my tastebuds hostage for a long time now :)

Banjaara at Broadacres and a little shop in Bromhof at the centre with the Mica and Woolies, are the best I have had, Karma is not nice, and the Raj at monte is alright just quite pricy.

Best curry is made in Durbs
I've had some pretty good curries in Durban - leaps and bounds better than whats available in PE - but I've had better.

I have never tried a Raj oddly. maybe i should swing by the rivonia one this w/e.

The Paki places in Fordsburg are also very good value for money places!
Awesome food and very cheap compared to other places.

I had a 400g fillet steak with cheese and pineapple and egg with chicken livers, chips and salad with some naan for R45!!!

And I tucked in on everyones plates, all good food! Total bill for 15 people less than R1000!

Orientals in the Workshop (in Durbs) is good... but for the real deal, get a indian aunty to cook it for you at home... what they sell in the shops isn't always the best

lol. Is that place (in Fordsburg) listed in the Garmin DB? I'm a sandton child, i only know how to follow the voice prompts ;)

NO! my cousin lives in the complex at the back, ate at Banjaara's twice, its a Bangladeshi place, curries were ok, nothing spectacular, the starters were'nt good at all! sheesh kebabs when broken were like powder plus the lighting is crap. Raj at Sandton wasnt bad, & Bhukara is not bad but the prices........jeez

Sunrise on Florida Road make a good bunnie, Silver Rani's on Silverton are starting to slack now but this other place on Florida Road "Taste of India" is quite good as well, but I wouldnt eat in also that depends on what curries you looking for, these places serve the norm, mutton, chicken, beans, mixed veg. If you're looking for the authentic indian curries Vintage on Windermere is great but my personal favourite is Bombay to Beirut on the beach front, the place looks dodgy but the food is awesome, Chicken makhanwalla never dissapoints!

Remember Orientals from a few years back. How safe is the Workshop these days?
