Orientals almost got burnt down a few months back, its safe-ish. I havent been there for ages, but friends who audit the water board go there all the time for lunch....they havent been killed yet.

i'm not sure hey... i hardly go there, unless it's for food
+1 had their tandoori chicken the other day and it was huge and delicious !
BTW i heard the staff\owners from curry palace used to work for Gazelles !
so basically it should be the same or similar food although gazelles are a bit more classy but it's a mission without a booking even on a week day !

Is Curry Palace run by the same guy who runs the Curry Corner in Sunninghill?
Anyway, the best Indian food in Gauteng is without a doubt the Curry Corner in Sunninghill (at the core). Ghazal is overrated and there is not one reason I would eat there as long as the Curry Corner is in business; if you going to Ghazals in Sunninghill then try the Curry Corner.
The service is awesome and their food just amazing. Bombay potatoes that are out of this world....

whereabouts is this place in sunninghill - what direction u go if u coming from chilli lane mall?
Driving out of Chilli Lane, drive straight (dont turn into Rivonia), up the hill and around the corner, past the Sasol on your right. Go Straight and pass PWC and a large complex on your left. There is a shopping centre called The Core on your right, in Leeukop road. The Curry Corner is there....
Still there. We eat there at least three times a month and will be buggered if they close!

for a good chicken tikka fordsburg also is great, there usually a guy on the weekends that braai's the the chicken (middle of the flea market) his chicken comes out great and whateve marinate he uses is awesome !

my gf raves about them as well ! i tried their food once and it was awesome but sadly they don't deliver to the cbd.
i heard there chips roll is brilliant !
Arjanas in braamfontein also has some good currys.
