Here's the deal:

I bought a second hand graphics card a few years ago and it died December last year. It was still under warranty so I send it back to the original buyer, who in turn took it to Axiz. The card was replaced, but this is where the problem comes in.
The replacement card is second-hand. The box has been opened and it's obvious on close investigation that the card was installed into a machine. What makes it real fishy though is that the original owner, and Axiz account holder, had the exact same card (the one I received as RMA) for sale on a forum :wtf: And to top off the madness, it has now been marked as sold - hence my suspicion.

So what kind of help do I need? If someone has a connection at Axiz to check what replacement Axiz gave for my dead card I'd be much obliged. I still have the serial number but I'd rather pass it on via PM than post it here because it is not 100% certain that I've been done in...and I don't want to mention any names yet so please don't ask.

This is dodge, for sure.

First off, I'm not sure if they will allow you check on another client's sales record.
If they do, there's the obvious chance that all 3 serial numbers are assigned to the Axiz client. They should however have a record of which serial number replaced the unit sent in. You don't perhaps have the original serial?

Conradl, let me know how you go about this. Would be interesting to keep on hand.

@ zeb:

Was the card just replaced, or were you credited so that you could re-order?

Many places, when they replace your product, provide you with a refurbished model. They hardly ever give you a brand new product (unless you kick up a REAL fuss :D ).

Chances are that you got a refurb. Any particular reason you think that the card you received is the same one advertised elsewhere?
