I've been struggling with this issue for a week now, it happens randomly then the network works then it crashes again. Now it's completely down.

Not sure whats happening,I even rebooted many times.

I'll look into Fibre soon but just need to get this working for now.

I can access the router page but I don't see anything I could possibly change or mess around with to get it to connect.

Although your issue appears ADSL related, might be connected to what I was experiencing about a week ago, Axxess through Frogfoot fibre.

Could simply be Axxess' activation system causing you to lose the connections - definitely log a ticket + question them on it, plus request they sort it out ASAP.

My (very limited, as in "next to no") understanding is they needed to reassign MAC address login authentications / activations (?).

After the 2 occasions I had the problem, they seem to have resolved it, as hasn't (yet) happened again.
I opened a ticket but not sure if they'll respond or assist soon.

Its completely dead. The second icon on the router is usually green but now there's no light

They generally respond with a few hours, but unsure about a public holiday.

You should get a copy of the reply via your email address with them as well, so keep an eye on email notifications (on phone, for example).

Doesn't seem to be what my connection was experiencing, but possibly a Telkom tech needs to get involved.

Maybe add to your ticket before they reply, requesting they (also) try a port reset.

In the app & online, with Axxess you can click on Restart Connection (will check on exact wording) for fibre ; do you see that option for ADSL to try, in the meantime?

EDIT - that's the wording, but if you've pulled the plug on the modem already multiple times, doubt this will help in any way.
Doesn't help. I'm thinking of restoring to factory settings and reconfigure everything but I'm not 100% sure if there are certain things need to be changed on the router settings for VDSL.

The second icon which means internet isn't flickering so that's concerning

The only other thing I can suggest is attaching / uploading that pic you posted here (with explanation of internet light now off), added to your existing ticket with Axxess.
I did that but need the internet for work purposes asap. So that's why I'm trying to see what works.

So I reset the router to default and followed set up wizard and entered the correct details etc but still nothing.

I feel I need to do something in Layer 2 interface etc but can't remember.

Is VDSL completely gone??
I spoke to someone and they tried to help me but they saying the details aren't authenticating. He puts me on hold. Then comes back and say "Openserve says there's nothing they can do as well, their is no more dsl"

I don't understand why my line is still up and they still tried to help if that's the case.

My router needs a manual setting to be added to override the authentication which I did with help of someone back when I got this deal...now this person says something else.

Doesn't seem right, we will be moving to Fibre but I need this working in the mean time.

"Openserve says there's nothing they can do as well, their is no more dsl"

It's not entirely accurate.

What really happened was that all the ADSL/VDSL techs are already on pension, and now the staff that answers your calls have no idea why you are calling them about Windows 3.1 when they only know about Windows 11.

Ordered Fibre now, apparently 1 week installation. So hoping for that.
