:mad::sick:

These slow speeds have been the order of the day for 2 weeks now. Slower than those old time 56k modem.

uncapped being throttled? or can be a telkom problem, every 2nd guy is having congested exchange problems these days.

capped account and loads of GB left. The line checks out look at the SNR values.

well no reply from them Axxess yet, but the ping is now down to 1098ms between Cape Town to Johannesburg on speedtest. So maybe my e-mail has not reached them yet.

Telkom says, and I spilt my coffee when they said this.

Telkom technical 0800 375 375 says my line does not exist.

So I explained - slowly - I'm phoning from the same line, my accounts all have this number on it...

They (Telkom DSL technical) maintain my number does not exist, but if I speak to New Telkom orders on 10219, they can see the line

Eish. The line and number has existed for 20 years.

Eish.

ask them why are you paying a bill for a line that does not exist :P

Axxess reply.

Account is unshaped and has no shaping or throttling on it.

The slow speeds could be due to over congestion at your local exchange.

So... you guys are probably right - its Telkom and their shena****ns again - aaaargh.

I even had all the ADSL filters and phones replaced just in case it was that.

Now how does one fix a line that has existed for 20 years but doesn't exist on Telkom DSL technical side?

But for which I pay DSL "line rental" every month.:erm:

TIA.

what a joke.

Analogue side works fine.

But it appears to me they have completely stuffed up the digital side of the line.

How they did that? Heaven only knows.

Look at the ping speed before everyone gets to work this morning.

9/16/2011 6:30 AM GMT IP 0.30 Mb/s 0.10 Mb/s 101 ms Cape Town < 50 mi

Ping from Cape Town to Johannesburg jumps between 48ms and 1038ms

Is Telkom's network infrastructure capacity overloaded?
