Axxess fibre uncapped accounts = garbage

So because most Isp's in this country are greedy selling overpriced products while being useless, I thought I would downgrade from a capped account to an uncapped account on axxess which is slightly cheaper.

Slightly cheaper but terribly worse.

You basically have an uncapped account but cant do **** with it?. If you go slightly over a VERY SMALL THRESHOLD in 7 days, They throttle your account in half. And half again if you go even slightly higher.

Haha, its basically been designed to give you the least value as possible while maximizing their profits.


So brand new month and 3 days in, having used only 30 gigs(My old capped account was 300-400 gigs), I am throttled, Latency is ****, and Im wondering what the F Im paying for?. Sent them a ticket, "Oh bla bla bla, Does not matter new month, Its based on last 7 days, bla bla bla", and even still I had used around 70 gigs in 7 days due to downloads(Not terrabytes, like torrent guys out there). But now I cant play those downloads or finish them fast enough due to throttling.


Tldr: Uncapped accounts are totally inflexible and a scam. Have a download spike in the month due to updating steam games/downloading stuff etc?, well now enjoy being quickly throttled. Stick with a capped account instead and good Isp.

Here is a middle finger to you as well Axxess if you are reading.

You get what you pay for... There's no such thing as uncapped in S.A, only if you're willing to pay for a business account or go with a business fibre solution.

Exactly... been saying this for years. Most uncapped accounts in SA are fake uncapped.
Pay for what you actually want and get the Axxess Premium Uncapped.
What a proper uncapped account actually goes for. About R1000 to R1500 a month.

FUP enforcement will be difficult. As far as I know, Cool Ideas don't track usage at all.
Been with them for just over 10 months now, haven't had a single slow down.

To the OP, don't complain about your uncapped if you take a package from a company that treats fiber like it's ADSL. There really is no need for uncapped tiers on a fiber network.

Also, comparing Afrihost to Cool Ideas is like comparing Transnet to the Swiss rail system...
 
Uncapped is real, just stay away from ADSL isp's.

I don't even know how much I do in a month.

They throttle even their premium and premium plus accounts.

Also, some of these isps, what a joke having so many tiers of a product
-Home uncapped(Mega crap)
-Premium uncapped(Crap)
-Premium plus uncapped(Same as above probably but fancier name?)

Why not also throw in a "Premium super plus ultra" there as well?. Bunch of idiots and crooks. Anyway, yeah, according to their terms, the axxess "protocol manager" aka money saver, throttles all of their uncapped accounts.

My bad, didn't honestly think it would be this bad and with little info/reviews/experience on the matter I signed up for it. Will definitely switch my ISP and never use axxess.

I am having the same issue. It's the 11th of the month and I have used 27.3 GB on my 4/1 account and its being throttled. Very disappointed with axxess.
 
My account should not even be managed on the 11th of the month. My usage is within the daily aup amount of 2.6 GB per day
