axxess press release

Actually, that is a good point. No where on Axxess's site does it say the prices are only valid until end October. Do the Axxess accounts run from the first day to the last day of the month? Or is it valid for 30 days from when you've signed up? If it's for 30 days then you can simply sign up today and they have to honour that price.

they get reset at the end of the month

Well the hope, as well as the rumours remain that they are up to something. But I haven't seen any reasonable speculation as to what that could possibly be. And the longer they remain silent, the harder it is to keep the faith.

Personally, I won't feel an urgent need to be making any decisions until about 25 October. But I understand the general sense of frustration expressed here.

Well IS take about a month with their uncapped solution... So I have a need to know ASAP...

But what can sheep do but Baaaa....

Then they skin us and use our fur to keep warm at night...

yes, we signed a contract but their was some clause in there if sectors price changed dramtically they would change the price but allowing the customer to leave the contract

Anyone know what the loophole is for the 30Gb accounts
as SAIX offer the standard 3Gb and unshaped 4Gb account
to their Virtual ISP's.

You need to be a self authenticater, with access to the saix radius server.

You cant do it as a standard reseller.

Some minor axxess info

Hi guys,

It's not much but it's something...

When I spoke to axxess around a month ago regarding opening an account the manager/owner informed me that there was "something" happening in November but "was not at liberty to say any more". When pressed he was of the opinion that the new changes would affect Axxess and its customers either not at all or minimally because "of the way we've structured it".

I spoke to a (different) gent at Axxess this morning again. He acknowledges that there is to be a change in ADSL administration policy on November 1st and that they expect a pricing change. He said they would know final details "by this weekend" and that he has no further information at the moment. The current pricing structure stands for now, so a new 10gig account can be opened for example, but only used for the remainder of October NOT for 30 days from the date if inception.

I hope this helps, we're all waiting with baited breath...I myself have already cancelled my M-Web account so I may find myself out in the internet cold come Nov 1st...in which case will you all please forward me your postal addresses so we can continue the forum ;) ;)

Good luck to all

I guess you have to actually speak to them - I was curious as to their pricing and a number of other things and they couldn't be bothered to reply as of yet. Pity that the way they choose to treat a potential client - shame on them!

Now who's their representative here on the forum. I want to give him/her a bad reputation vote ;)

Bwana, Axxess is based in PE. Won't you just walk in there and confront them for us???

k .. I just phones them ... and they say they are waiting for telskum approval ... so we should hear something hopefully by monday.
They did say that I was looking at paying double for a 30GB account ... how true that is ... well .... no idea.

Might just do that - fair drive from where I am though. I'll wait to see if they provide any answers by tomorrow and then decide.

how about phoning them before.. I'm sure they're just waiting for an upset customer to barge in.... They're probably just waiting for everyone to give their prices so they can beat them just slightly...

Double for a 30gig account. Thats insane! I can handle a 50% increase, but not 100%. It will be cheaper to get an IS Business solution with 5 Static IP's and a cool Cisco 836 router, instead of those crummy white Telkom routers.

ADSL was suppose to be the "affordable" internet dream.... but what dictionary are Telkom using to lookup "affordable" ?

What has this country come to?

Semi-Confirmed answer from guys at Axxess..

Just called to find out about the recent ADSL problems. Anyways I asked him about the whole 1 November issue. He pretty much said they are in meetings tommorow to get funding for setting their own infrastructure.

PRICES WILL GO UP! But not as severe as what Telkom want to make it. He did say the initial price will be sustainable. But thereafter it should come down. I know its not full proof information. But atleast these guys are being honest. 10 points to them and 2 thumbs up on my side. I wish them all the best.
