Axxess Reduces VDSL Line Pricing

That 20Meg pricing is quite attractive. It's what i pay for 10meg.
 
That 40Meg price is what I'm paying for 20Meg...The question is - do I need 40Meg? :whistle:

Indeed!

I pay that for 10Mbps, sync at 8Mbps and effectively get around 2Mbs internationally thanks to Telkom and borked exchange, apparently, according to ISP.

Axxess could charge R800 for 100GBps, and it would still translate to same-old-same-old-meh here.

You tried speedtesting other ISP accounts?

Both Web Africa and Axxess offer free trials.
 
20mbps is what i'm paying for 2mpbs adsl currently, so as soon as its available i'm grabbing it...

Hi Chevron

I have accounts with Axxess, WebAfrica, Connect and Afrihost... they have all tanked since around 19th July.
I have replaced POTS filters, I have added to my modem and router collection - brand new devices - and have had Telkom check the extension and home wiring, and nothing has helped. I had my line bundled with data at Afrihost, but they ignored me completely for a month and a half, and Telkom could do nothing as the circuit was with Afrihost. Afrihost insisted there was no issue with the line but even their Test My Line results showed inconsistent SNR at whatever speed it was syncing at, tried dropping it all the way down to 4Mbps and nothing helped with international throughput. Pings were normal, just under 1Mbps speed internationally and around 3.8Mbps locally. A Telkom Internet account worked well for about a week, it is now also useless.

I have cancelled the Afrihost bundle and the circuit will be back with Telkom end of September... maybe then something can be fixed and I can get the 8Mbps I was getting prior to July19th... and then dream of 10/20/40Mbs!
 
Yes ok so I need to move my 20Mbps adsl2+ line to axxess
 
Telkom wholesale are reducing prices for VDSL so I think all ISP's will be cutting prices soon. Axxess normally the first to make a move :)
 
I tried that link, Chevron, it says nothing about VDSL. Is that the correct place?
 
I expect all suppliers will reduce their VDSL line rental over the next few days, Axxess has just made it official.

The Telkom door to door sales lady told me about this the weekend before last already but didn't want to splash it until there was some sort of official announcement.

You don't necessarily have to get VDSL. It has very limited coverage but you might be connected to one of the latest dslams or IMAX exchanges which supports 20Mbps adsl2+

It almost just as good with a slightly slower upload speed but download speeds are the same. If you can get 20Mbps VDSL or ADSL2+ it just does not make any sense to go for 10Mbps.... Its only R30 difference for a 10Mbps increase in speed or even if you just get 1Mbps extra its still a no brainer as its so cheap.
