Hi,

Moved over to Axxess this month and while the switch over and line transfer went ahead without a single issue, I have had a few issues getting my line speed sorted out, as there seems to be issues with their site and the pricing. I have been waiting 4 days now and I still have not got an answer to how much the upgrade will cost. What is reasonable time to expect to wait? I must say with all the issues I had with Afrihost, there support was at least prompt, and even WebAfrica respond within a few hours.

Contemplating switching over to Axxess and reading this is unsettling. Do they have a live chat I am looking at their website and I dont see a thing.

There is nothing to worry about, got my issue resolved and everything is running fantastically well.

Nope, connection was in the openserver pool, and during this time there was no connection loss, quiet impressed.

Yep, i'm also impressed. Got a new telkom line to my (new) apartment connected today. Applied online for DSL line with Axxess around midday. Called their callcentre to follow-up and was advised to ask Telkom to release my number. Thereafter the callcentre guys pushed things through within a couple of minutes. They even called me back when the call dropped! I was quite surprised to find I had internet access by the time i got home in the evening. I'm told i was lucky as it could take weeks to get connected. Still, a good first impression of this ISP.

PurSpyk!! please let us know how their ADSL performs. I'm still using my old Vox bolt-on, and these Axxess price-cuts are tempting.

ADSL seems to be very good, I am on a 400GB capped account, so its not shaped, and I have also used some of the free time (pity their free time is only from 0:00 to 06:00, which is really the only complaint so far), and Steam last night was downloading 6GB per hour so that is very good. Speed has dropped a bit this morning for some reason, which is a bit irritating, but not by much.

The only odd thing is Windows 10 updates are very slow to download, and with the recent patch Tuesday this week, the updates were very slow, Downloading the updates manually was extremely quick, so some setting is not correct.

P2P every during the peak hours was running qt 100% line speed, which is something I never got while with Afrihost (odd as both companies use the same network)

Yep my Windows 10 updates were also pretty slow, but I'm on AfriHost atm so I suspect its a microsoft server issue.
Thanks for the feedback - there's not much of it regarding Axxess on the forums, so this is all good to know.

Problem is today connection is in the dumps, router shows its connected at the correct speed, but on a 20Mbps connection this is what I am currently getting:

Last Result:
Download Speed: 798 kbps (99.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 850 kbps (106.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 127 ms
Jitter: 87 ms

So now I am really pissed off

Ja. I know about the outage, still irritating.

Axxess has been terrible at delivering customer support for me. Ordered a 4mb ADSL line from them and had to follow up with Telkom myself as they simply never bothered to communicate anything. I have to call them repeatedly to no avail. Cancelling everything to do with Axxess as they are just a waste of time.

Is the Axxess 4mb premium account shaped (throttled)?

Hi jdido87,

The premium Uncapped account is semi-shaped, meaning it is subject to an AUP.
"The Axxess Protocol Manager is used to provide all uncapped users on our network with the best possible internet experience. During peak network times, we give priority to real time services (such as browsing, email, streaming etc), high bandwidth services such as NNTP, Peer-to-Peer and Torrents (and similar but not limited to) will receive less priority."
