Axxess throttling

I signed up to axxess uncapped 4mb uncapped at the beginning of the month and have pulled about 30gig of basically just linux distros and have since been throttled to about 1mb.

Is it normal to be throttled to a quarter of my speed after only 30gigs of usage?
 
Well both Axxess and Afrihost share the same network. So it's probably just them not having enough capacity.

Haven't heard of Axxess specifically throttling.

When you say throttled, do you mean you have been informed by Axxess that you are throttled or are you assuming you have been throttled because your speeds are bad?

I just think 30gig isnt considered abusive.... Or am I wrong in considering it.
 
Well according to the website they don't throttle but shape.. So it's in contravention of their advertising.

Unless it's just a Tactic to try and get usage down due to their capacity constraints which both Axxess and Afrihost are experiencing.

I know mweb does it to, they say you pay for a uncapped 4mb account but if you reach 30gigs they throttle you,
its being advertised as an uncapped account but when one studies t's and c's they say they have the right to throttle you...

in my opinion this account shouldn't be even named uncapped, but rather something like uncapped throttled account or something... lies!!!
 
Their capped account is also wacked.

At one point they turned off torrents. Now they are deprioritising gaming. Lot's of denials, but switch over to another ISP and it all works properly again.
 
if a company screws you over like that its better to take a 40gig unshaped account that will work out way cheaper...
 
Latency on Afrihost and Axxess is high, also been struggling for days to use there news server, goes dead in the water for long extended periods.... just 0KB/s thru put.

Is there offpeak and on peak since well I am on dailup speeds on the moment. I try to download most of my things for after 1 am till about 6am.
