Axxess Uncapped ADSL Prices Slashed

Hi Grim,

You are on the R495 for life special, these accounts will not be upgraded as part of the #BigSummerScoop Campaign. If you would like to benefit from the special you would have to cancel your current account and sign up for a new account. We would not suggest you do so, as the R495 for Life was a limited special and not something you would want to lose. But ultimately it is up to you.

Regards,

The Axxess Lady

So now I'm getting screwed out of R120/m because I can't migrate my account anywhere, this should be my choice and not locked

I gave them a spin from yesterday and must say I am impressed so far. We had streaming running on 4 devices at the same time and I played poker on-line and downloaded a p2p file all at the same.
I look at my my services and was managed. But nobody reported any hiccups. So far so good.
the P2p File downloaded 11 gig by this morning at 7.

In all honesty she is not saying you cant. she is just suggesting you don't. As you will not get the same price for life again if you do and if they revise the price in Jan you will be pissed again.

No, I can't change it now as I can only cancel for end November because it's after the 25th and they only announced this on the 28th, so yes I'm getting screwed for at least next month.

They won't revise the pricing or they will leave current customers paying the same with new customers paying more.

If they do decide to increase the prices I can just change ISP then.

So going to ignore me then?

I will now also be ignoring your invoice for November until my account is either upped to 20Mbps or put onto the reduced price of R375/m.

Check your PM's Axxess Lady

I still want an explanation about this.
When I signed up for the R495 for life I clearly remember there was a mention that should the price drop then the lower will apply.

When Webafrica dropped their pricing, I was automatically benefitting.

Why are the terms changing. We have been loyal customers and deserve to have the saving rather than someone new who may cancel after a month.

Just a quick question.

When my account is managed, it is only P2P and HTTP downloading that is managed, right? But is it managed 24/7 or only during business hours? What is after hours with Axxess?

How are you guys finding gaming during the day? And streaming (Hulu, Youtube)? Thinking of taking them up on the free upgrades deal. Doesn't look like Openweb will be doing the same, so trying to figure out if I'll actually see some benefit between getting 10Mbps with Axxess vs the 4Mbps Gamers King account with Openweb.

Have you been able to get an answer on whether restrictions are relaxed after hours? I just signed up for the R375 Mbps deal, keen to give them a try and see how it goes.

The shaping isn't time based, it's network load based. So light load on the network = unshaped even if it is during business hours, heavy load = shaped even if it is after hours

i get full speed 24/7 i found out what ports does not get shaped :p

indeed , good so far.

but my amd drivers downloads last night was 8kbs :(

switched to mifi it went 800kbs

This Axxess 10Mbps at R375 is turning out to be a disappointment. It is Sunday night, after hours and I hardly get more then 130kB/s out of them. I had it on full throttle since Friday evening and now it is all worn out. I will not be keeping this account for another month.

i am still going full steam ahead.

10mps account on 6mb line

so far this month 120gb , 30gb so far today.

I really dont no which ISP anymore, been with them all, Afrihost the worst ever ever. On a Axxess 4bm uncapped now. 1st month went well. Ive been shaped for almost a week nw and I only have 55gb downloaded. Got like 15kb on torrents if not less. I mean really. Can this get any worse, mxm They dnt even unshape you afterhours of over the weekend. Slow speeds hole weekend

Hi Kalster,

In response to your question - Should your account become managed we will only manage your Peer to Peer, HTTP download and NNTP traffic. We will manage an account as long as the load on the network is high.

Mmm, not sure about this statement anymore.
I was not able to stream Netflix and Hulu+.
Gave Axxess support a call last evening, and was told that Netflix and Hulu+ is not seen as realtime, and is being managed.
My account was being managed so badly that I could not stream anything, buffering all the time.
112Gig used on 10Meg account, and being managed on a service that they said will not be managed.
I logged a ticket for a refund, but have not heard anything from Axxess yet...
Signed up with TI, will see how that goes...
