Any Axxess uncapped guys on MTN or still on IS according to their rollout schedule?

Me!A big chunk have not been moved over yet so will temper my excitement for now.

would appear that I was moved over last night. I had to change my SMTP server this morning which was no longer working on ISDSL.NET

as of right now...

getting 350K/sec on a multi-threaded HTTP download from www.filehippo.com

getting 400K/sec on USENET (astraweb) tried various servers EU/US, even switched ports.

not impressed at all seeing as I was getting 950K/sec last night

Used to rack up about 100gb odd in a month and I wasn't being throttled

i only do about 35-40gb in a month so i will be save
i am fedup with mweb and there problems over 2months now

how does youtube play?
avg dl speed?
and just service?
and ping in gaming?

Hi Syber.

Rather have test accounts from a few ISPs. Axxess/Afrihost is in the process of sorting out all the bugs in with their new MTN backbone, so not sure how reliable their service will be. Judging by the number of complaints, not great.

I'm with Openweb atm on the IS backbone at 1Mbps and everything runs normally again. Torrents at this moment running at full speed. Youtube and streaming video works as it should. Very happy. See if you can still get in on their Gamers Delight promotion.

Hi all

I am new to Axxess.
We have installed a Telkom + ADSL line, but I am not sure if it is activated yet. They told us it could take up to 6 weeks, but should be done after 3 days (now).
How can I confirm that the ADSL is activated? The landline has dial tone already.

We are using a Tenda ADSL modem, which doesn't ever show a DSL indicator light, which I think means it's not working.

Are there any Axxess reps I can message, or what should I do to get this sorted out?

hi,

look under the router,there will stand a ip adress and login details,
type that into the adress bar (the ip) press enter
login with the details its usaly admin admin,or just blank


see if u see a status page look if i see "downstram"and "upstream" if it shows anything its connected

and with axxess data it gets activated immediately


also didnt even know axxess have a feedback thread

Thanks for the reply. Ok I have logged into the router and set everything up, however same story, it says ADSL line unconfigured, and the indicator light in the admin webpage says eth0 is connected, but the landline is disconnected.

Telkom's installing my voice line tomorrow, looking to get the 8mb uncapped from Axxess, how long before I'll be online if I already have a router, and will I only pay a pro rata for this month?

Lots of packet loss for months, I post tickets they give me automated responses. As if it's me that's the issue. I mean the packet loss is consistant and throughout months on end. And I'm not talking a little bit of packet loss. On skype it cuts off so bad, I can't make out words even. Maybe half words. But it's that serious. I tried afrihost green and normal afrihost and it's not that bad. But at night I can hear crystal clear voice on skype why? And it's been for months. I don't want to complain, and it's not the money that's the issue, it's just I can't use it what I want to use it for, gaming. And it's the same for the first of the months too. So it's obviously not me, and I have tested this on 1gb free unshaped axxess accounts.

I wish you luck, but you're going to get a lot of packet loss. For now at least. So I'll try in a year to check and see if they improve.

What is your current policy on "Uncapped" ADSL? What and when you shape? What is limit (in GB) when "unlimited" user become shaped? What percentage of speed people have after shaping?

Depending on how long the activation take, you might be online from 2 days to 2 weeks. You will be billed pro-rata, yes.
