Axxess unshapped uncapped ... worthless

I have signed up on the 1st of August 2010 as most people did. I expected a unshapped service which I got at 1st ... this however did not last.

I have only managed to do a full 6 GB on this account and now I'm soooooo shaped I can't even open FB at most times.

Where is the IS star system to show us wtf is going on.

Anyone else experiencing the same on this offering and how much have you manged to download? :twisted:
 
I am using the Openweb one and it is performing great!

I have used 9GB so far and account is still going strong.
I had some hiccups where I was heavily ?shaped? on international bandwidth, but this has since been fixed

Thats good news how fast is your downloads and what connection speed are you on?
 
i am not any having problems been on axxess since the new uncap came out sometimes its bit slow but most the time 250-350kbs since this new unshaped came out gaming side is good too.
 
I had a look on the AXXESS facebook page and the folks there are sining along the same tune.
Shaped to hell - hope that this clears up. I have nothing against AXXESS and have been a client for long.
Has anyone heard anything about the IS star system and how does it work?
 
Hmmm... I'm on the 384k Lite OpenWeb unshaped/uncapped account (essentially the same thing, both IS), and I have done around 15GB for the month so far.

I do believe I am already in that top 20%, because my downloads have been about half it's usual speed.

But FB, Gmail, forums, etc... even the sites I use to do my graphics work... they're all working just fine. Absolutely no problems on that front.

I would suggest contacting Axxess to have them check into your situation.

How are you being shaped if its an Unshaped account?

If you are being shaped on an unshaped account, then give them a snot-klap and slam a complaint with ICASA or something.

There is a tool someone posted somewhere a while ago, an app that does a check on your line and reports if there is shaping or not. try google.

Thats BS, then it's not truly an unshaped account? I would guess thats why people would choose the more expensive unshaped option so they dont get affected by the IS FUP crap

Kinda thinking (err .. i know) its IS ... but dont advertise an unshapped account and shape the living f*** out of me.

Browsing is half past dead and I'm reckoning someone has it in for me. I doubt if I can be top IS user as I i have taken things easy and there are folks with 15 gigs done this month with no issues.
Reckon I should follow it up with them.

Even thinking of joining Digichilli again or Mweb for that matter or Afrihost. :mad:
 
Trying to make a choice here. On afrihost 4mb uncapped at the moment, but i must be in the top 20% or 50% or whatever they cap, because i have not see downloads aover 10kbs in over a month. I think it is IS that does this as i think afrihosts bandwidth is provisioned through IS, so basically IS is as lame a company as you can find! So the question now is mweb better? I think I am handing in my notice and trying out mweb from next month.

I hate this top % throttling, rather say if you use 50GB we will destroy you and your connection, % based is as gay as it gets!

Anyway, anyone got some advice or good things to advise about mweb? My usage is probably around 40GB a month.....

Have you called them to confirm you are being throttled?
 
There's been quite a few threads about how bad this product is. If you're still on it you deserve to suffer through the pain, not?

Uhm, that's a lot, and you said in your first post you used only 6GB :erm:

You have reached the limit of this account, the shaping is there for a reason
The shaping is quite reasonable if you ask me
