Hi,

I am currently a 4mb uncapped ADSL client of Axxess since the beginning of the month and I have had non-stop issues ever since. When I do speedtests on their website, I get speeds of 233KB/s. When I do a speedtests on my other ADSL(Web-Africa) account, I get speeds up to 3.6Mb/s.
The moment I noticed the bad speeds on the first of this month, I opened a ticket on their system. This was on the first. On the 8th, someone replied, stating that IS is having problems and closed the ticket.

I just want to say that if anyone is in a situation where they want to go with Axxess, don't. The service is horrible, the line is slow and the people are incompetent.

I really wish that I wasn't curious about other ISP's and stayed with Openweb. The end of this month, I'll go back to Openweb and stay there from now on.

Good luck to other Axxess clients. I hope that you will get better service than me.

Sounds like Aerosat, same stories and speed is terrible at best times.

and good luck to you going with openweb, by far the worst service, and lots of users will back that up!

I have been with Openweb for many many years, and have only had the best service from Mrbeep and the team. You do NOT know what you are talking about.

Openweb ftw!

I think Axxess are one of the only ISPs that are honest about the new cheaper uncapped offerings from Internet Solutions (IS).

On the Axxess website ( http://www.axxess.co.za/uncapped.php ):
This account is not meant for heavy downloads. If you would like heavy downloads, try our Express Accounts.

I personally have moved back to the Express account and having no problems.

Hell yeah will back you up on this one. Not even looking in their direction if I am changing ISP.

Axxess always friendly and wiling to help.

I have been with OpenWeb for a long time! Excellent service. It is Axxess who provided me with the worst service ever!

I have been with Openweb and Axxess, a few times concurrently, and although I have never had bad service from Openweb I think that Axxess is better.
The express account delivers month after month without fail.

Honestly, If you want to download lots of stuff, suck it up and get an express account.

Now what about us suckers that bought their capped accounts (axxesslite @ R19/gb) for the last week or so I am lucky to get half speed downloads on my 384 line. Also it would be nice for them to answer their support emails.

Blaming Axxess...while it really is IS's network that is pretty damn crap at the moment. They gave me fairly good service when I used them, given I could do everything online.

Then you go and compare them to WebAfrica who wants to have the best and most stable network.

gg.

Oh.. You mean capped accounts. Have you tried calling them? I find with most company's email is not the best way to communicate.
Phone them, take names.

I also think these ISP's are not so bad if you think the problem actually lies with IS.

Ok so they have replied back to my email, maybe they are reading this thread :) So if the problem lies with IS, I could live with some form of announcement that tells me what is wrong and when will it be fixed from axxess.

I'm just thinking if they all have so many problems with IS why are they still with IS?

And we are back to full speeds, wished that there was just some some form of consistency.

Mweb 384 Uncapped better than Axxess 4Meg Uncapped

I have a 4mb ADSL line at the office, and use a Mikrotik setup to make various ADSL connections via bridge mode

I got an Axxess 4m uncapped package for "Base Load" (e-mails, junior staff web access etc) and a WebAfrica capped account for "prime time" Internet (VoIP, The Boss etc).

During office hours the performance of the Axxess 4mb package is typical worse than 200kb/s. After midnight, it improves to close to 4mb/s and drops to day speeds again around 7 in the morning.

Just to test, I got an M-Web 384 account as well. No problem getting 300kb/s anytime of the day!

It performs better than the Axxess 4mb/s most of the time, in spite of being a slowspeed rated package!

Axxess sucks!

End of the month, my Axxess account will lapse, and MWeb will get my 4Meg business!

Hi guys,

I've been with Axxess for a long time and I've reached the end of my tether with them. Their support is horrid at the best of times and no matter what problem I log with them, I get the "Phone Telkom, it's not our problem" treatment from them.

I have a four meg line (supposedly), but I barely get anything higher than 25k/s at the moment. My pings on World of Warcraft have gone through the roof since last week Friday and it's gotten to a point now where I can't play anymore! I have sent numerous emails to them and I'm basically being ignored!

So, I need to find a new ISP by the end of this month and I'm thinking of moving to MWEB. I need uncapped so WebAfrica is not an option because, from the looks of it, they don't have a competatively priced uncapped offering?

I was also thinking of trying Afrihost. Anyone have any hassles with them?

Thanks,
Johann.
