Bad Driving thread

I am happy with the little Garmin I have but I think they are pricy.
Agreed.

I have the Garmin 66W in front, and the Garmin 65W rear facing, they are expensive but much better than others I have bought in the past.

I'm too lazy to use the two Garmin apps intended for retrieving footage (until I need to), but the voice commands are great.

What apps do you use for footage? I simply take the Mini SD card out of the dashcam, plug it in an adapter, in to my laptop and then use VIRB to shorten and stitch together footage.

P.S. I have a DC55 up front and want another for the rear.

I have also taken the SD card out and copied the files to my PC.

You can try using the apps to get the footage onto your phone Garmin VIRB for the 65W and Garmin Drive for the 66W, but I'm not patient enough for that.

Me. I just gave two thumbs up to a kind gentleman who obeyed road rules: he stopped and let me through an mall parking intersection/exit.

Yoh.

On my way from PE (that other name is an abomination, and I will not utter it) to Pretoria I witnessed a road rage incident that was attempted murder (from my POV)

Apparently, what happened was that a truck had to swerve out for a car next to the road, narrowly missing an oncoming SUV. (It was a golden SUV, either a Toyota Fortuner or a Ford Everest).

Said driver of the SUV took extreme offence at that narrow miss, and went into full rage mode.

All I saw was that it flashed its lights (here I assumed that it was to warn of speed cops or road hazards further up ahead). Then it did an U-turn. Again I assumed he/she saw friends and wanted to meet up with them.

Boy, was I wrong.

The telltale dust in the air warned me that something was majorly wrong, and soon I could see a truck (at least it was a truck with two empty side-tippers) and said SUV weaving in and out of traffic.

Automatically I fell back. I had no desire to be part of the unfolding Charlie Foxtrot, but people behind me had other ideas, and passed me, but they were forced to do an emergency stop.

Ahead the driver of the SUV had positioned his car in front of the offending truck, forcing it to a stop, and allegedly fired three shots at the truck. (Silly boy. A SUV is definitely no match for a large truck with two empty trailers. If he had his family with him in the SUV, then he set an extremely poor example for his family).

He missed the driver, but hit the left-front side (passenger side) of the truck, damaging the radiator with his lead jellybeans, leaving the truck straddling both lanes.

Driver was shaken and upset, but glad to be alive. Gave the poor guy some moral support, and urged him to get the police involved.

At least the truck have a dashcam, so footage can possibly be used to find the driver of the SUV, who fled the scene going back from where he came from.

I have seen some road rages on youtube, but this one takes the cake.

Unfortunately no video footage is available yet, and I have no idea if the trucking company will release footage of this incident on Youtube, but if they do, I will link it here.

On the way back from Mpumalanga around Witbank it was just insane how people are speeding and ignoring solid lines (with families etc on board). Seriously dangerous overtakings with coal trucks.
