Bad Driving thread

what really gets my titties in a twist is people that don't F$%^ know how to treat a robot like a stop when the lights are out!!!!

I have to shake my head at the idiots that go through the robot straight behind someone that has just moved off?

WTF people!! What happened to waiting your turn? What happened to treating that situation like a FOUR WAY STOP, ITS not that HARD For F$% Sakes! :confused:

I'm inclined to believe that it is blatant selfish attitude and not stupidity or unawareness.

One theory I hold is if you take the amount of sociopaths as a percentage. At my guess this is what, 5-10% of people based on some studies/documentaries I seem to recall? I'd even go further to say South Africa probably holds a higher percentage as an uneducated guess... (because of violent society, crime, poverty, divide and history, family values etc...)

You take that and apply it to our road users and the implications of how many people drive in a manner without remorse, fear, repercussions it paints a pretty scary picture.

Of course all of this is just my own naive speculation and the sociopath label is a grey area. To back this up, you kind of have to be a sociopath to drive the way a typical RSA taxi driver does. I've witnessed this "alien-like" behavior many a time to some really extreme forms. Pretty sure nothing short of a gun-barrel to their heads will stop them being lawless at the expense of others.

Yeah, Guys try that with me, usually ends up not working for them.... I start moving before they have a chance..... and if the intersection allows it, I will stop in front of them and let other people through instead (as long as its not a massively busy intersection and I'm not inconveniencing anyone else).

The N1 South Atterbury offramp in Pretoria is a PRIME example of this, ends up effectively closing down 2 lanes instead of 1. It actually cause a backup quite far back, as the highway is essentially reduced to 2 lanes in this section.

You should try the N2 at either the Umgeni Interchange, KwaMashu or Umhlanga...

At times a 4 lane freeway (either way) is reduced to 1 lane which sometimes comes to a grinding halt as well due to prats trying to push in.
 
Saw a guy turning into a house on his left encroach the ENTIRE right lane (oncoming) before turning into the driveway! As if that's bad, the guy right behind him went past before idiot A made the turn.

I get really annoyed when a car is parked in the street on the opposite side of the road, but thats not the irritating part - it is when the oncoming traffic feels the need to leave about two car spaces between him and the stationary car? WTF????
can people not judge distance to save their lives?
 
CF 62088 came blasting past a couple of cars as we were slowing down to stop at a stop/go. It is a solid line on the N1 at De Doorns, did not even indicate as he swerved to duck in front of me.

Took this last night at the Sasol garage in Randburg next to SARS. I don't know if it belongs here or at Bad Parking Pictures. It seems a woman floored the gas pedal when parking and 2 kids in the car were injured.

N14 into PTA CBD same. 2 Lanes, where the one turns of into Eeufees. Both lanes comes to a complete stop due to nabs in the right lane trying to push into the left lane where the offramp starts.
 
it really pisses me off how Bikers behave....

has anyone else noticed that a black dude on his motorbike will weave in and out of the lanes going merrily along about his own business, not a care in the world
Then you got these white dudes that hoot at all the cars, show zap signs, kick cars, smack their windows, Rev their engines loudly next to motorists and shake their heads at people that are maybe a little to far over the lane etc. WTF!
It's actually hilarious

How in ****'s name is this a black and white thing?

For that matter how do you even know what colour they are?

Unless you are talking about the obviously black delivery driver okes...in which case those are people with very different needs and priorities on the road and do it all day long.

Also why do the bikers bother you but not the motorists that caused the problem in the first place? What if the motorists just actually made a bit of space or didn't have their tyres touching the line because they don't know how to drive?

I had an experience with bad driver once, I was riding my bike (Merida Kalahari 550, number plate RP0532) and turning right at the 3 way intersection that leads to Kehtna from Türi/Järvakandi side at the right side edge of the road where tarmac meets the side fill gravel. Some a**ehole with a white van turned also right so close to the edge of the road despite having enough room to fit three there, I had to emergency brake (other choice was a deep ditch with water) and tumbled off my bike and he even had no balls to face me.

Taxi trick now attracted many other followers. Same as driving in the emergency lane on Beyers Naude and stopping in the yellow lines at the traffic lights :(
